Naperville/Aurora Bakery Recommendations

Ooooh I love Weber's! I am drooling as I write! (sorry).
Not in the Fox Valley area but close is Busy Bee Bakery in downtown Downers Grove on Main street south of the railroad tracks. Thier cakes are awesome, very close to Webers. They are a little pricey though. The suggestion of Jewel cakes is a good one, but DO NOT get any buttercream on the cake....it is sickenly sweet. The whipped cream is very good, very reasonable priced and they are everywhere. The good thing about any of the bakeries is you can always ask for a taste cake!

I'm not sure if you want to go this far or not, but there is Cathy's Sweet Creations in downtown Plainfield, 519 W. Lockport, ####-###-####. She has many different cakes to choose from for kids. It has been about 2 years since I've bought a birthday cake there but, at that time, we were able to choose the type of frosting we wanted. I know they get very busy this time of year with first communions, etc. and their hours are a little different (I think they are closed in the evenings & closed completely one day during the week) so I would call before making the trip. Hi, not sure if you are a member of Costco, but we get our cakes from there (although huge) they are very good and you can't beat the price - I think they are 16.00 or 17.00.

My sons turned 3 in February. I ended up ordering their whipped cream frosting cake from Jewel and it was delicious. All the guests enjoyed the cake--super moist. Tasted great the next day too! I'd order from there again in a heartbeat! Good luck.

I would suggest Harner's Bakery in North Aurora. I don't know if they do the whipped cream icing, but they do a nice job on cakes. there is also the Cakery in North aurora. I have never had their cakes, but the guy was on tv for an extreme cake challenge! My favorite place for whipped cream iced cakes is ...believe it or not, Jewel!

Actually...we get out birthday cakes from Jewel and they have always been fantastic and then you can pick out your child's favorite character. I get whip cream icing from them and have cream in the middle or strawberries.

The Cakery in North Aurora is great. Its on oak st and randall rd. best cake anywhere. harners also has great cake its on butterfield in north aurora

Like another person said, the Cakery is very good. They created an amazing looking cake that was 3 dimensional and looked just like a giant cupcake... we got that one for my daughter's first birthday.
