I realize I can look them up online, but I would like opinions from people that may have used them or know someone that has too.
I'm curious about how well they work and an idea of a price. My kids are in school a large part of the day, but there's another reason I'd like to have one.
What is your take on a nanny cam?
Or is there something else out there that I could use to 'watch' the inside of my house that I can view later at a reasonable cost?

There are other reasons.
I think my mother is using my home for an affair while my daughter is at school.
If doing some sort of camera is too expensive, what about hiding some sort of sound recording device that will last for many hours? That way you wouldn't have to worry about the small amount of visual space that a camera can cover, and at the very least you are going to hear things going on that will warrant a more in-depth look into what is happening at your home while you are away. You can adjust the plan accordingly at that point.
I kinda feel like if you can trust your nanny, you should find a new one.

I'm not entirely sure, but I would look into a camera that hooks up to your computer (if you have a computer at home). And I think you can view it from other locations on a different computer. Sorry I don't know specifics :( Also, prepare yourself cause it ain't gonna be fun to watch!
I'm not sure what the "other reasons" are, so it is hard to know. The nanny cams are stationary, so you need to know exactly where this "other reason" is going to take place. I think that there are plenty of things online that allow you to record in your house, and will even pipe it to your computer, but not knowing your situation, I think you need to evaluate these.
well im a nanny and though i would feel awkward knowing i would be on camera i also have a child and know that i would want to insure the safty of my child with a stranger. i think if you are feeling like the person taking care of your child is untrustworthy then you should either find someone you can trust or just get the cam but i dont know legally if you can video tape someone without letting them know
