Hi! I have two daughters (almost 8 & 6). I put both of them in gymnastics at ages 2 and 4. My older daughter was a bit uncoordinated and gymnastics helped considerably. I started with a mommy and me class for my 2 year old and a preschool class for my 4 year old. My older daughter stuck with recreational gymnastics for 3 years and then decided to move on to something new. My younger daughter LOVES gymnastics and is now a part of the competitive team. Gymnastics is a great form of exercise.
We go to Trevino's Gymnastics. The address is technically Lancaster, but the gym is located off of I-35 and Parkerville. The phone number is ###-###-####. They also have a very informative website - just search for Trevino's Gymnastics.
FYI - I have learned over time that there are recreational gyms like ASI or Little Gym and there are professional gyms that offer both recreational and team classes. My opinion is that the professional gyms are better equipped with safety features. I myself initially considered ASI (there is one in Cedar Hill where I live) and after attending a birthday party at an ASI location, I was so glad I opted for a professional gym.
I hope this information helps. Good luck!!
