My friend has that too and was told it's a warning sign of preeclampsia. Call your dr tomorrow if it's continuing, and see what he/she has to say about it. Good luck and congrats on your baby!

drink lots of water, put your feet up and see if that helps. If the itching continues (and is severe) then I'd call your doc. :)

They're not swollen yet...but they easily could become swollen. As another poster said, this can be an early sign of preeclampsia. At the end of my last pregnancy my feet did the same thing, then my blood pressure spiked and my feet became so swollen that it was painful to walk to them. I spent hours with my feet up trying to bring the swelling down. At my check-up on my due date they decided to induce me because my blood pressure wouldn't come down, even with rest. I'm fortunate that it didn't happen until the very end of my pregnancy.

Call your doctor and get in for an appointment. There's no harm in going in, it's better to stay on top of these things.

I don't know about feet and ankles specifically, but pregnancy can bring on all kinds of weird skin stuff. I was all itchy on my torso (actually had a rash) for the last couple of months of my pregnancy. Drove me NUTS!! But it turned out to be totally harmless. You should probably mention it to your doctor at your next prenatal appt to make sure it's not anything to be worried about. Good luck and congrats!

I got hives on my wrists, then ankles when I was 36 weeks pregnant - it drove me nuts. I tried oatmeal baths (helped some). I even tried doctor prescribed steroids (didn't do anything). It only went away for me a few weeks after the baby was born.

If you are itching more on bottom of feet and hands then stomach I'd ask your doctor about getting a test for ICP If you want more info go to Itchymoms.com I had my doctor test me and I had it and now they are taking my twins at 35 weeks it can call preterm labor or stillbirth if untreated its rare but I had it and now Im on 2 medications and go to the hospital twice a week. When I read that I wasen't taking any chances.
