My son was like that too. I had to swaddle him until he was like 7 months old or he would not sleep at all. I also let him sleep in the swing and car seat quite often because they seemed to help a lot. He did have colic so there was still not much that would help, and he was diagnosed with reflux. I'm sure the reason he didn't like the bassinet or crib and preferred the swing and car seat was because he was at an angle and didn't have as much pain that way. Being horizontal can also make an ear infection much more painful
I think you can try the suggestions that people give here, and if he is still having trouble I would have a Doctor check him out for any medical issues like reflux or possible ear infection

I guess it depends on what the potential issue may be, and that young, it is hard to tell. First thing I would try is his crib. Our son has grown to absolutely love his. When he was little, he had some gas issues so we would have him sleep in a little swing. He slept very well in it, but we kept trying the bassinet because we didn't want him to get too used to sleeping in a swing! I was very against co-sleeping because I hear these stories of babies getting so attached, then you have a hard time getting them out of your bed, or into their own room.

I had a few thoughts...
Is the bassinet the only place he won't sleep? Does he have a crib? My boys did better in a crib after the first few weeks. I didn't even pull it out for the third one.
Is he in your room or his own? My babies sleep better in their own room. I think they have a hard time if they can hear me.
Is he fussy any other time you lay him down? If that's the case, he might have reflux or gas or something that is making him uncomfortable.
Is this a new development? Could he maybe need to eat more?
Good luck!

my son would sleep in anything but his crib after 8 weeks old, i don't know why he never did like the bassinet or pack and play. i did co sleeping, and the crib(in my bedroom) for 2 months, then only the crib by 3-4 months. My son just wanted his own space around 2-3 months, he went to his own room and own crib then. He used a pacifier and a stuffed lovey to make the transition. it is a tough time good luck

My daughter was like that just didn't sleep well in her bassinet and was up constantly to eat. So I put her in bed with me and kicked her daddy to the floor. LOL Pathetic but that's what worked for us for a few months. She slept better, I slept better and Daddy didn't care.

You can try co-sleeping, put a swing or bouncy chair in your room, try the carseat or even a regular crib.

My daughter is now 8mos. and is in a pack n play in our room and still wakes up to eat working on that problem now.
