I am writing in hopes to get answers of suggestions from other moms on this issue. I am a mother of FOUR and this is the first time I am coming across this issue. My 21 month old has not been urinating much in the last past 3 WEEK or so .Maybe 1 wet diapers and no pee in the potty. I have noticed that his urine also has no odor to it. I called my pediatrician on Wednesday and he told me to make sure he is taking in fluids, but because of his age he is too young for a UTI or any other infections of that type. I am concerned, because it is now almost MONTH NOW and he still is not urinating like he typically does. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? He is only 21 months old, so I know it is not a potty training issue. He sits on the potty in the morning and before him bath before he goes to bed still no pee, but is just a coincidence. Any suggestions as to what I should do or try. I never told his day care about my concern, the daycare came to me on Wednesday and inform me that my son still had on the same diapers he came to daycare with and that was at 6:45 am, I pick him up at 5:30pm and this is when I take him to the hospitals to get check out, and all the DR. told me to give him more fluids and he don’t have a UTI, but really concerns all the DR did was press on his belly, and look at his men child area, there was no other test done on him, no blood drawn, no x-rays know nothing, and all the DR inform me to do again is give him more fluids. But this is really concerning me. Can someone please help me out with this one? I never being through this at all new to me. Any suggestions or inputs will be appreciated!!!!! Thanks in advance for all your help!!!!!

What can I do next?

I would definately get a second opinion. Does he seem in pain or discomfort? My daughter, when she was four, had an issue where she felt like she needed to pee but couldn't. The bands in her urethra had not expanded as they should have and she had to have a urethral dilatation done to get relief. She was miserable though, crying when she would try to go and couldn't. And as far as the possibility of UTI, my sister's daughter has had issues with those since she was very little, just a little over a year old, so I wouldn't completely rule that out either.

He can definitely get a UTI. My son had one at 3 weeks old ! And several others by his first b-day. Yes - extenuating circumstances but still ! Make sure he is drinking water and pedialyte. He may be dehydrated also. He needs to be checked out further.

Go to another dr. I assure you he could get a uti. My daughter had one on her 1st birthday. Can you try and give him some cranberry juice? Does he act like he's in pain when he try's to potty? Or just in general? Is his belly swollen or hard? I would keep taking him to the dr, there is some conditions where people just can't pee, and need cathatorized. Good luck
