My husband and I stopped giving her anything about 1 hour before we put her to bed and we take her potty before we put her in her bed, but that doesn't matter she still wets!!! I don't know what to do anymore, please help! thanks

WOW. I can't belive she is potty trained. my son is 2 and still not and my daughter is almost 4 and wears a pull up to bed because just like last night when she wants to wear panties she does not wake up and pees in the bed. I have no idea how you got her trained to early but I don't think she is ready if she is wetting the bed. maybe she is feeling such a strain from learning so early that she is forgetting to wake up at night. I'd have her wear a pull up to bed just in case.

does your daughter have bladder problems. When I was growing up I had a lot of bladder infections, so you might want to check and see if there is a problem there.

The only thing i can suggest is that you set your alarm in the middle of the night. Get her up and put her on the potty. I have 7 yr old triplets and didnt train them till they were 3. And to stop the night time bed wetting this is what i did. Also you need to stop drinks about 2 hrs before bed. So if her bed time is 8 then make sure at 6 she gets alot to drink...Even if you have to push some of it on to her. Then by 8 hopefully she will have peed most of it out. She is still young and if it continues you may want to have her checked by her Dr. she may have an infection.

WEll good luck with that,

Dee

If she is having a growth spurt or playing harder in the day then usual, anything that might be making her more tired then usual will sometime cause her to not wake up. My daughter also was potty trained befor 2 and still has night time accidents we just do pull ups a night, most of the time they are dry but once a week or so they are wet, no big deal....

My 4 year old will very seldom but every few months wet the bed after a VERY exsausting day!!!

Dear J.,

Have you thought to ask her why it is happening? At 2 1/2 I know thier vocabularyis not perfect but my daught who was trained at 2 years old woul dtell me she loved her 1 diaper at night. When "I thought" she was ready for night time potty training I would put down a sheet then a plastic shower curtain or plastic sheet. Then I would make the bed again with another set of sheets. This way all I had to do was pull the sheets off the bed and viola bed was already made. I just got back to sleep quicker.
The more accidents she had, the more I would think she will never potty train. She was in the bedtime diaper until 3. It didn't cost me that much and it made her happy. She was Completely potty trained during the day by 2.

If this is something new, then you may want to take her to the doctor to rule out any medical conditions....ie. bladder infection, urinary tract infection ect.

Good luck! I hope this helps.

I feel your pain! My daugter had a similar problem after being potty trained for 1 1/2years!

My first suggestion would be to check with a doctor and make sure there is not a medical reason for this such as a UTI or bladder infection. If not I'd say back to the pull ups. That is what we ended up having to do. Once we ruled out a medical reason we got more pull ups - the kind that lets them feel the wet but won't soak the bed. After less than one package of pull ups my daughter found it uncomfortable and irritating enough to get up and start going on her own. Good luck with everything.

SOmetimes there is no real reason. Bue 2 1/2 really isnt to old to not expect it. Be sure you dont punish her or make her feel bad about it. Just think about what is going on lately. Has anyone moved away or any big changes in her life. It could just be a phase as awell. Just get her some pull ups and wait about a month without really talking about it then try again. Usually with regression potty issues it doesnt take long to relearn but occasuionally there is something physical that could be happenning to so if you are cutting off water 2 hours before bed and making her go potty before bed and you see no results maybe bring it up with her DR.

Good luck.

My 4yo has a bit of nighttime regression since his little sister was born. I did the same things as you as far as nothing to drink an hour before bed and a bathroom trip before bed. I also let him pick out some special underweat to buy so he'd want to keep it dry and I wake him up around 1 or 2 a.m. to take him to the bathroom.

Since is sounds like she was doing so well for so long I would take her to the Doctor. Accidents on occation are one thing, but since this is happening every night she could have a Urinary Tract Infection (they are not always painful) or a problem with her kidneys. It also could be emotional or a recent growth spurt of course, but she should be seen to rule out a medical problem.
