Hello My 15 yr old is in a medical club in school. Shes eager to start her own fundraiser and or way to help kids with juvenile diabetes. she's a very caring individual and I would like to encourage her to keep up just not sure what to suggest. she has talked to teacher in school and teacher has given her the green light please help with any suggestions.

You should encourage her to check out the website for JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation and the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org). They both list several fundraising opportunities to help raise money and awareness in the community. She could organize a team from her school and walk in the annual walk they do in major markets. Both organizations do separate walks and also bike rides. Also, the ADA has a program where you can organize you own walk which is explained on the website. Good Luck with this project.
what about doing a bake sale with diabetic friendly items?
You will definately have to do some research in your area as my daughter couldn't volunteer in our area till she was 16.. Most hostpitals you have to be 16 & even then some of them require an adult to volunteer with them.. She wasn't even allowed to volunteer at the dog pound till she was 16...
