We have the Joovy ultralight and we LOVE it. It good for everything that we do. I have two girls 3 years and 18 months.
Hi Everyone!!! I am seeking advice on double strollers!! I have a 21 month old who loves riding in his stroller, and we are expecting our second child in March. We are a very active family, we take walks daily, and love to go roller blading. Currently we have a single jeep jogging stroller and an everyday mall type stroller. We would like to only buy one double stroller, but we dont know which way to go. We have looked at the "BOB Revolution", but dont know if it is worth the money, plus we are not sure how it would be in crowded area's. If anyone has any input we would greatly appreciate it!!

I agree with the others who recommended the Phil and Ted's strollers. We have the sport model with the double attachment. It can get through very narrow areas. We walk frequently too and have found it to be a great stroller.
Our bob double stroller has been worth every penny!
First, ongratulations on your pregnancy! Regarding a stroller, I would recommend the Phil & Teds also. We have the 'Sport' and love it. It can accommodate one child or 1 infant and one child, or 2 children. Also, it is narrow for use in the mall. Good Luck!
Check out the Joovy website. I got one off Craig's list about a year ago and I absolutely love it! My four year old can sit or stand in the back part, plus it's easy to get out of if she wants to run around (or there is a seat belt if I want her to stay seated). So my almost two year old can sit in front, strapped in where he can see everything. I really like it because it is not any wider than a regular stroller so you can tool around the mall or wherever without too much hassle. I think there is an attachment for the front part too so you can put a car seat up there if your little one isn't ready to sit up yet.
My only complaint is that sometimes it doesn't turn very easily, but that could just be the 70 lbs of kid I've got in there :-)
Hope that helps.

For the activity you enjoy, I would recommend the BOB Revolution double stroller. We have one, and love it!!
Good luck,

I love my double bob...I is not a great stroller for shopping as it does not maneuver will between the racks, but it does fit in and out of doors. It is big and I have to say that I mostly use it for working out (baby boot camp) and park trips.
My friend has a Phil & ted and she has had some issues with it tipping if the top kid get out before the bottom kid.
Congratulations and have fun with two.
I also have and love the Joovy, my three year old loved the stroller too but as soon as the baby was born, she loved being the big girl and walking, so the joovy lets her have the freedom of walking, sitting, or standing, and she does change her mind often at this age!
We used the Joovy and LOVED it for our two boys. It has lasted us over a year being used from everywhere the pumpkin patch, the mall, and walks around the neighborhood. The great thing was the ability to have our older child hop on and off as needed. And of course the carseat adapter for the front was a life saver when the baby was sleeping in the car.
I've never used the Phil & Ted but we seriously looked into it and found that it was an awesome choice. It was very versatile, and not much bigger/heavier then a full size stroller. The only reason we didn't get it was because now we have three children.
I'm loving my Baby Trend Deluxe from Target, $170. There are two versions of the Baby Trend, so be careful you get the full enchilada kind. My two boys are 23 months apart and so far this is working brilliantly for us. It got good reviews on Amazon, if you want to check it out. I believe it converts to four different positions.
By far the best choice is a phil & teds sports stroller with a double kit..

We love ours, and both of our sons do too. My almost 3 year old still loves to ride in it.
I have the tike tech 360 double stroller and I really love it. The front wheels can swivel or lock into place which makes it very easy to handle on rougher terrain or just out running errands. It is side by side, but narrow enough to fit through doors, and one of the lighter double strollers. It is less expensive than the BOB strollers, with similar features. There's a great website where you can compare/contrast specifics on strollers depending on what your personal uses will be...www.joggingstroller.com. Congratulations!
We bought the BOB double stroller when our second son was born (boys are now 2 and 4). It was been worth every penny. I jog as well which is a major reason we bought it. It just rides so comfortably and we enjoyed it for other outdoor activities as well. It is a little wide for some stores and doors so you do have to consider how much you'd use it for shopping. Good luck!
We have the Joovy sit and ride stroller. It's great for a toddler and an infant (or even 2 toddlers). Both can sit (one faces backwards and the other forwards) but the one of the back can also stand. There is a newer, lighter one out that has much easier turning point (my sister just got one and said that she can turn it with one hand). It has a universal infant car seat attachment for the front and once the baby is out of the infant car seat, you can convert that into a seat with a tray. We've been VERY pleased with our stroller and have put many, many miles on it over the past almost 3 years.
I have a Cougar Chariot II (from REI) and think it's a great stroller for active times. It's a bit wide for mall shopping, but I normally use a carrier there for my 18 month old. The Phil & Ted double decker strollers seem to be a nice streamline way of getting two around and it's great for jogging, but I don't know much about how it functions at the mall. I think any side by side is going to be wide for crowded areas, but I still plan to use my Cougar when we have more than 1.
I have a 30lb 17 month old and a 2 month old that was born 8 weeks early. My mom bought me the Phil and Ted double stroller, it can change to four different ways, and is the best thing ever!!! I can use it as a single or double, also with or without the the infant carrier, and also with a bassinet type carrier for the little one. It folds up pretty flat, and is easy to drive around in the stores, and can be used as a jogging type stroller. My older one really likes riding in the lower seat when we are using it with the carrier, and i have also used it with my 3 1/2 year old niece who would never go in a stroller other then this one. It is well worth the money, we had to order it online, but i think there is a company in Bellevue that also sells them. Hope this helps!
I love my Baby Trend sit'n stand LX. My son was 17 months old when my daughter was born. I fit her car seat in the back facing forward - I didn't like the design where it snapped into the front seat facing backward. My son loves sitting in the front, the tray rotates out so if I leave it unlatched, he can get in and out at his leisure. It does great at the mall and fits in my Protege's trunk. It has a big basket on the bottom, but I only put diapers, coats, change of clothes, snacks etc... down there. I don't use it for a full diaper bag. Now that my kids are almost 1 and 2.5 we are thinking about taking the back seat out because my son wants to walk. But with the backseat removed, the stroller turns into a sit'n stand for when he needs a ride. I have used this stroller to walk through the woods to the park behind our house. It doesn't ride as smoothly as our jogging stroller, of course, but it gets the job done, and walking with it is fine.
hi A.... we loved our jane stroller... it's a tandem and we liked it better than the phil and ted ( it seemed like the 2nd child was riding in the basket)... the jane was a great all-round stroller... we could use it in the shops and around the neighborhood...easy to fold and steer... we also have a double bob which is great too but not for running around in the stores in the mall... the only problem with the jane was that we could only use it 'til our guys were about 3 because they outgrew it... then we started using the bob since it didn't present an issue with leg length... i know it's a tough decision... good luck!
