I'm dealing with the same issue right now:( I have been drinking a lot of ginger tea, which helps. I also read that watermelon and lemonade help with nausea. Good luck. I hope it passes soon:)

Do you have any suggestions to combat morning sickness? I've read about nausea wristbands/ginger chews etc. but not sure whats safe and effective. Thanks!

Sorry about the morning sickness. That stinks, I had it alll day, all nine months with my last pregnancy (go figure, a girl), with my my son, (my first) only the first trimester. My docotr told me ginger ale or ginger tea was fine. I'm sure ginger chews are as well. I would just call your OB if you are concerned. If it weren't for Verner's Ginger Beer I would havve never survived my las pregnancy. Also, try keeping some crackers by your bed side to eat beofre you get up. Hope this helps and good luck.
You will quickly find out what your body can handle. I couldn't eat saltine crackers when everyone swears by them. What workes for me was not drinking with my food. i drank water about an hour after i ate something. In the morning if you can eat something before getting out of bed it will help. If you can have something by your bed like a piece of bread in a ziploc bag so you can grab it right away that usually helps.Bread will become your friend because it is one of the safe on your stomach foods. stay away from butter, oil, fried foods , spicy foods. Hang in there it's worth it !
Preggie Pops from Motherhood Maternity worked wonders for me :)
hi S.,
Aromatherapy helped me - I used to slice up a fresh lemon and carry it with me in a small ziplock. Also, for some reason wet-wipes (the anti-bacterial ones that smell like rubbing alcohol helped me as well). Open, sniff and feel better - repeat as needed. Be careful with anything you injest - even natural remedies as some can be blood thinners, always check with your doc first.
I used the seabands also, (wristbands) and they helped somewhat - at your drug store next to motion sickness medicine.
congratulations and take care!
OI have managed my severe morning sickness with no to morning sickness tea.
S.,
Congrats!!! But sorry to hear about the ms.
My girlfriends lived off of lemonheads and peppermint candies while they were pg and sick.
I hope that helps and you feel better soon!

Accupuncture has been known to help reduce nausea and does not require any drugs.
My OB told me to have a protein snack before I went to bed at night and it worked like a charm.
Hi S.! I never got sick while pregnant w/ my son & my morning nausea only lasted about 3 weeks (thank God!) BUT, I did try those Preggie Pops (you can find them at like Motherhood Maternity) & those worked pretty well, actually. Also, I kept crackers on my nightstand & would eat a few before even lifting my head off the pillow. And the other thing that I found to be very effective was ginger tea. Hope this helps!
I had very little of that because as soon as it started I went on a simple diet of Wild rice. it is very high in folic acid, B vit's, protien, complex carb, fiber, etc. You can find it at Trader Joe's already ready to warm up. or buy it in bulk somewhere and steam it up yourself 4 cups water to 1 cup wild rice. I also drank the ginger tea. then, when sickies subsided, about 24 hrs.... I went on a sort of yeast free/ wheat free/ sugar free/ natural diet. no processed foods. no coffee. eat as much veggies, fruits, meat as you want. take probiotics and DHA along with your prenatal multi and your baby will come out strong and healthy and smart.
One thing that works is to have crackers next to your bed with a glass of water so when you get up in the morning you are not getting up on an empty stomach. This has worked for many of my clients. Also, there is something called preggo pops I think that is what they are called and they are suckers. I hope this helps.

eat small snacks about every two hours. Keep cereal bars on hand at all times. This worked the best for me, though I was still sick through both pregnancies, till the end. Just keep in mind if it doesnt go away after the first trimester, it will go away as soon as the baby is out. Good luck. I feel your pain, I lost 26lbs in the first 4 months of my second pregnancy. If it gets really bad the doctor can prescribe Zoforan for it.
i got sick with both pregnancy's all the way to the end, although the begining was worse! i remember pulling over in the car a few times! i tried everything that was ever suggested! ginger sanps, crackers every few hours and wrist bands amd many other things! my dr. told me to take unisom, however that makes you very sleepy( knocks you out so your not sick)! i only would take that if it was a rough day. but i would check with your dr. first, things are always changing. good luck, as awful as you are feeling it is a good sign!
Yuck S.! Lemon drop candies or jolly ranchers! I sucked on them 24/7! Kept me feeling good that first tri-mester! Anything sour.
You can buy ginger root at the grocery store. Peel it and chew on that. Don't swallow it though!!! If the ginger does not help, try crackers. Everyone has such wonderful suggestions on here... good luck!
