Thanks for all your help with my concerns about my growth on my right kidney. I got new info and not good either, I'm now more scared then ever. I was told it was 4cm on CT report said suspicious of benign tumor amd possibly RCC, Now the uroligist says from what he sees on the picture it is 5cm or more. into the kidney and most likely a slow growing malingnancy. I am going for a second opinion on 5/9 with a different uroligist that practices at a larger hospital. Anybody have this sitution or that can offer any experiences or support in understanding what's going on. Please help I'm so scared I have 2 children a boy 20 and a girl 5 .They need me. Thamks in advance.
Sending a prayer your way. I don't have direct experience with this but my boss is a kidney cancer survivor and is 10+ years cancer-free (he was diagnosed at age 40). I hope that it's not cancer, but if it is, the 5-year survival rate for tumors caught early is very, very high. Please keep us posted, I'll be thinking of you!

I had a different kind of cancer. But I can share what I am doing. I have done everything my doctor says to do, but there was no nutritional counseling. So I researched that on my own. Two great books to read are The Anti-Cancer: A new way of life, and The China Study. Some of the research is only in labs or mice, but some is proven for humans.
Taking a proactive approach gives you hope a a positive focus.
I totally understand the stress and anxiety you are feeling. Try to find activities to take your mind off of it. Yesterday, I saw the movie, Soul Surfer and that really helped me refocus.

My grandma had to have a growth removed it knocked her down for a while but she got right back up from it,hers came out to be benign & has to have check ups every few months with her urologist.She is fine now.
If it is not benign, very curable, kidney out problem gone. Just had mine
out in Feb. Glad you are getting a second opinion. Have two friends that
had it also. Even if it is benign, I think and I am not 100% sure, you will
probably lose your kidney. Pls. do not quote me. If you do, pretty sure
they can do it laparoscopically. Mine could not be done due to 8 prior big
surgeries. Good luck and keep me posted.
