I live in Allen Park, MI and have a bunch of girl clothes from 0-24 months and thought about trying a mom to sale to try and get rid of some stuff. Which are the best ones to try? We did have one in Allen Park last year but was disappointed in the turnout and barely got rid of anything at all. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Look for ones with lots of advertising that will be your best bet. Around here they do one in Birch Run, Mi at an expo center that I've done and almost completely sold out of my items. There is also a church here that I've done really good at. And my sister and I just got done with one at her daughter's school that went well.

I stopped selling at mom to mom sales years ago because there was no demand for older children’s clothing, NO TIME, too expensive-not worth my time, and the organizers really did not know what they were doing (no advertisement, organize, etc.) One sale I was selling at demanded all sellers bring in baked sale items (like we have time to bake or buy items when we were organizing our own items to sell!) And another time I had to drang in my own tables from the custodians area due to the organizer did not have everything organized and ready for seller to set up (and the kicker was I had a tiny table for 18 bins full of clothing-when I paid for 2 20ft tables.)

I have had better luck on craigslist, yard sales, and the mom2mom list website. They have a forums section that you will be able to place free ads and chat too!

Have you checked into your local mom's of multiples. Here in Georgia they have several groups per county and they usually have ahuge yard sale type thing once a year and all the members get in a day before the regular public does. I hadn't actually ever put my twins stuff in there and it's been quite sometime since I have been a member but from what I remember the mom's always talked about how much stuff they got rid of. I think they do take a percentage of your sales though but hey at least you made something off of it and you don't have to worry about getting rid of it! http://www.nwsmothersofmultiples.org/ maybe this is what you are talking about but here in Georgia they tend to do awesome so perhaps it's the area??

Look for a Mothers and More.org in your area. :) They have resales twice a year where you can buy and sell your clothes. There is also thredup.com
