I have lost 53 pounds on Weight Watchers. It is the absolute best way to go if you want to lose weight and keep it off. And it's pretty reasonable ($12 per week) and you don't have to buy expensive food. Good luck!
Has anyone tried any of the weight loss programs such as Jenny Craig or nutrisystem? I am trying to get some feedback on the programs/quality of food, etc. I have seen several negative consumer reports on nutrisystem so I am a little worried about trying a program.

Welcome!
I tried Jenny Craig back about 10 years ago before I got married. The food back then was a little bit to be desired. I took off about 45 lbs but it was about 75.00 a week to buy their food plus my regular grocery bill to buy veggies and fruit and my hubbys meals. I quit and gained it all back.
The only thing that has really worked with my lifestyle now is Weight Watchers. If you can't attend meetings I would reccommend Weightwatchers.com. It helps you keep track of what you are eating and has menus your whole family will like.
Just to let you know I have been taking the weight loss over the counter pill Alli. It has been working pretty good in addition to Weight Watchers. Also I bought some indoor walking tapes off of Ebay and do those when I can't get out.
I havent tried either of those, but Weight Watchers has worked for me and my husband in the past. In fact we're just about to start it up again. I think its great because you can really eat what you want--just teaches you how to do it in moderation. Good Luck!
I am a certified personal trainer with a BS in Exercise Physiology. The best weight loss programs I have found to be, as far as diet, are Weight Watchers and Apex BodyBugg. Both deal with "total calories" vs. specific products/good/bad foods. More realistic for lasting results and lifetime change.
I tied nutrisystem a couple years ago and while I did lose weight - the food was awful. It is shipped through the mail so it doesn't need to be refrigerated/frozen, so who knows what sorts of chemicals they use in it to preserve it. I bought a months supply up front, so I had to eat it or waste my money. Some entrees were better than others but overall I would rate it a 2 on a scale of 1-10, and I definately did not purchase another month's worth. Yuk!
