Hi everyone! I live in a very small town. I have a 5 year old daughter who is not in school yet (her birthday is after the cutoff date.) Since she is an only child, she is always very sad that she doesn't have anyone to play with. We try to play with her, but I know its not the same as having someone her age. So just wondering if there are any FREE mom sites, or if there is anyone on here that lives in the lewisville area. I live right outside lewisville/denton area in Lake Dallas. Hope to meet someone soon!
Meetup.com has a Lake Cities MOMS group that includes Lake Dallas, Denton, Lewisville and Corinth, it is free.
Also on Feb. 3 there is a MOMS night out event in Lewisville at 7pm where you can meet local moms, message me if you would like the info. :)
You could try momslikeme.com and put in your city or look for a local city to you. It's a free site and I'm sure your local one prob does playdates and stuff. I know ours does and we've met some great people :) You could also try meetup.com (I believe is what it's called) but I think that has a fee - but I think it's a minimal fee of like $10/yr, I don't know much about that one since we don't belong to any groups on there. Lots of moms lots of kids and you are in the perfect location, we have members from lewisville, carrollton, flower mound, lantana, bartonville, lake dallas, corinth, dallas. they have playgroups several times a week and then moms only outings to help your sanity as well :) check out their website, www.mothersnmore.com
you might check with local churches. Many have mom's groups that meet during the week days.
You should check out MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). It's for moms with kids from newborn through kindergarten. You can go on their site www.mops.org and search for groups near you. It will give your daughter a chance to socialize and time for you to hang out with other moms. Enjoy!

Can't speak for the Corinth chapter, but our annual dues are only $25 and we do a LOT of free stuff.

Some, like DFW Area Moms, offer online support. But you can always introduce yourself like you did here and see if there are people in your area to set up a playdate with.
Other groups on the list, such as MOMS Club, might offer a chapter in the Lake Dallas area as well. You can either do a search of their corporate site, or you can contact one of the LV Locations.
Although some of these groups aren't free, their annual dues are generally very reasonable ($20-30 a year), and they offer lots of free activities throughout the year like playgroups, playdates at local parks, etc.

meetup.com is great, but most groups do have an annual fee ($5-10/year). The site doesn't charge you, just the individual groups if they choose.
My playgroup (just some friends) is on facebook, but we mostly meet in Frisco so that's not super close for you:( But if you want the info you can message me and I'll send you the link.
Yahoo groups is another good place to look, but again, it's optional for the groups to charge an annual fee or not.
Does she take any classes or sports (gymnastics, dance)? My daughters have met some good friends in classes, and while I wait for them I get to know the other moms. If they seem like a good "fit" I ask them to have a playdate or meet at the park, McD's playland, whatever. You can take free classes at the library and meet people that way too.
Do a search of Early Childhood PTA's in your area. They will connect you with children who will be attending the same school at the same time as your child. The playgroups are organized by school age and she can make friends with children that most likely will be in her kindergarten class. Good Luck

oh my goodness there are so many things to do around here! I second the idea of the MOMS Club ....its a great one bc they have tons of activities for both preK and school age children. also my favorite for preschoolers is www.MOPS.org, moms socialize in a laidback church setting while the kids play in the kids area. also, I would check out family eguide for the lewisville/flowermound area, just do a google search on that. goodluck and have fun!
