HI moms! I think I jumped the gun a couple weeks when I told everyone I was prego! I got 2 negative test results last Thursday, and started bleeding on Friday. I went to the doc on Friday for bloodwork, and the results today were that the levels were at a 5.5. Apparently that is very low, but not low enough yet? It has to be below a 5 the nurse told me. I am not totally sure what that means, but she was mentioning getting retested and possibly needing a D&C. I only bled on Friday and Saturday, and half the day Sunday. I am really confused. I am pretty sure I am no longer prego because of the negative tests, but what do you moms think??
I am not thrilled with the possibility of needing a D&C ot course, but will if I have to. Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went to the doctor today, and I am fine! She said as long as the bleeding does not resume there is nothing to worry about. Thank you SO much for all your kind words!

If you had a miscarriage then do the d&c to make sure your body is clean and rid of anything left from the pregnancy. You do not want to have any kind of infection. I would say next time wait until you are 12 weeks to let everyone know you are pregnant. I am sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage myself. Wait at least three months and try again. God bless and take care of yourself

I'm so sorry. Time will tell with this sort of thing. I'd wait it out. I had two miscarriages and never had a D&C. I never had excessive bleeding or anything. Hang in there and try not to worry. HUGS!!!

You won't necessarily need a D&C. Give it a little time. As long as you don't have a fever then you aren't developing any complications and you can let nature take it's coarse. Talk to your doctor more.

So sorry, it does sound like you may be having a miscarriage. This happened to me a couple of years ago. The HcG levels increase as the baby grows, and the doctors know what the levels should be compared to the week of development, so it seems that they are concerned that the levels don't match the age. Waiting a couple of weeks, they would be able to confirm that the levels didn't change, and they will examine you and see if you need a D&C. There are other tests they may be able to do now to confirm instead of waiting, but a lot of times these aren't covered by insurance, because nature will eventually take its course.
Sorry again.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I just had a miscarriage two weeks ago, so I know it's hard. I would just wait and see how the retest goes. You may still have more discharge, but if you don't then they may suggest the procedure. With my first loss, I was fine, but with this one I have some retained material and they will have to do a D&C. It's a lot to take in and deal with, so just give yourself time.

I am sorry for what you are going through, I had a miscarriage about 17 years ago. I had a D&C, it wasn't really so bad, especially compared to the pain I had with the miscarriage. I think if the doc suggests it, you should have one, better to be sure everyone is removed, than to have problems later.
