Hi V.,

I too am a military mom that lives in Beavercreek. I have two boys 4(5 in March) and 2 1/2 and we have been here for 1 1/2 years. When we first moved here we didn't know anyone, so I joined MOMS Club and have love having weekly playgroups, monthly mom's night out, service projects, book club, and cooking club. Check out our website at http://momsclub-beavercreek.tripod.com BTW We do have several other military mom's in the club =)

This weeks playgroup is at Pump It up in Centerville and next week we are going to the K12 Gallery in Dayton to make pinch pots. Also, our February monthly meeting is coming up and we are having a Valentine's party for the kids.

Send an email through our website if you are interested =)

Hi V.! I'm not a Wright Patt family any longer but I spent quite a few years there, we just left the area for Cedarville in November. (Actually I'm only 10-15 minutes from Xenia.) We first moved to Wright Patt in 98, when my kids were still pretty small. At that time the base Family Support office offered a base play group that was really great. It was held at the Chapel 3 multi purpose building once per week. The base sent people down with activities for the kids. They would have crafts, snacks, etc every week. It was great for the kids and for the moms and totally free. You could call the Family Support office and ask about it, the people there are wonderful so even if the group's not still up and running I'm sure they can point you in the direction of one.

In Xenia, the YMCA has some great programs for little ones and for moms. I know you get all kinds of things through the base gym for yourself but they offer very little for the kids so I've always opted for a Y membership. The membership fees are very reasonable and depending on your income you can get them discounted further. They have free daycare if you were to join a class or just use the gym for yourself and swimming, etc for the kids. I think they start the swimming classes at 6 months or 9 months old. It's called Diaper Dip. We're joining this month so I'll be at the Y nearly every morning soon. My daughter will be getting into gymnastics or dance and swimming in the evening.

Hello,

I am not a military wife, but I can understand how lonely it can be. I am an army brat if you will. I live in Xenia as well and have a 2.5 year old daughter.I'm also a stay at home mom. I've been looking for a playgroup around my area, but so far I haven't had any success. I would be more than happy to have play dates with you and your son. Please contact me and maybe we can set something up. My email is ____@____.com. ~ E.
