Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Worth It with a 3 and 4 Year Old?

I really want to take my kids this year to Disney for Mickey's very merry Christmas. My husband thinks they will just be tired and it will be a waste? They normally make it until 9 and get tired. I think this would be a great age. Anybody have experience? Is it worth it? We are taking them to gaylord palms for the Ice and Snow also.

What can I do next?

I took my daughter when she was 3 and we were there till midnight. We have also done the Halloween party 3 times. I would have them take a nap that day then get to the park at 4 when they atart letting people in for the party. Staying late is great, though, b/c the lines for the rides are SO short if not any at all. The parade is also great and there are 2 times for it.

We just went to Disney and were planning to go to the Christmas event. After the first few days, we decided not to because the kids were so tired by the end of the day it didn't seem worth it. They are 4 and 2. The last day we were there, we were leaving Magic Kingdom at 7pm (the end of regular park hours and start of the Christmas event) and families were filing into the park in their red sweaters getting their pictures taken with the Castle and beautiful lights in the background. I regretted not doing it! I think it would be great as long as you had a relaxing day with naps beforhand. Have fun!

We went to the very merry christmas party at disney. here is what the experience was like. The park was open until like 6pm at which time they started sending people out. it reopened I think at 7. you had to buy a separate ticket for it. the regular week long pass didn't work. there was a special parade. and big fireworks. but other than that it really wasn't worth the extra money we paid for it. we did get a photo of me and hubby and daughter with mickey which was cool. but unless your kids are older and going to stay awake till it ends then nope I would skip it. at 3 and 4 they are not going to remember it really at all. my older son's first trip to disney was when he was 3 and half and he doesn't remember anything at all except the plane ride to florida lol. He doesn't really remember the first couple trips except for bits here and there.

We just came back from a long weekend at Disney with my 2.5 year old. We went to the party Friday night and stayed out until midnight. My son loved it and we all had so much fun. The parade is awesome! I think you should take them. Keep the routine normal the day of- make sure they get naps on time, etc and they will be fine. At around 9pm my little guy started getting tired and rubbing eyes. All we had to do was suggest going back on the Buzz Space Ranger Spin and he was ready to go. lol They have lots of free cookies and hot chocolate to keep you all going too.

We were just there with our 3 yr old....it was expensive having to buy the extra tickets. she was soooo excited to be in disney she couldn't nap during the day but she conked out in her stroller about 45 min into the celebration! that was an expensive 45 minutes! If you are huge disney fans its worth it otherwise you can have lots of other fun with the $ you will spend for such a short time.

merry christmas!

My mom and dad took my nephew when he was 4 and he LOVED it. Surprisingly enough he still talks about some of the experiences to this day (he's now 6).

We went to the Christmas party for the first time this year. Our kids are 4 & 12 and they both had a great time. They didnt have to wait on any lines for the rides (not all are running) and they have characters that arent normally out. They will let you in at 4 and put wrist bands on you so that you can stay after 6. I felt it was worth the extra money. I have not seen the show at gaylord palms, sorry.

I just went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas with my kids also 4 & 3 yrs!!
I have to say though, it was a little disappointing. The kids had a much better time at the park during the regular day time hours.

The Merry Christmas is at night and dark! Also, the "snow flurries" are soap suds late at the end of the night after the parade (for 10 minutes).
The parade was ok, not as good as the light parade of years past.
And it was really crowded! The lines for rides were an hour plus!

If I hadn't have gone during the day and had a great time with the kids, I would have been very sad to just go to the Merry Christmas!

We just took our daughter 2 weeks ago - she is 2 years and 8 months. She usually goes to bed at 8pm and still takes 1 1/2 hr nap each day. We gave her a later nap from 3:30 to 5 and then headed to the park and SHE LOVED IT!!! We watched the parade which was great and then took her to see the princesses. The joy on her face was priceless. After that we did all of the rides in Fantasyland (except Dumbo because it was too cold) and then she knocked out in her stroller at around 11:30 and we went home. I would force the nap on them and DO IT!!!
