Meat for a Party

We're having a pool party with about 20 or so people. In the past, I've served brisket in the crockpot and people can help themselves plus we can enjoy the party without having to grill hamburgers/hot dogs. The only thing is that brisket takes a good amount of time to make and cut up. Do you have any other meat recipes that we can use and have in the crockpot, besides manwiches?

TIA!

taco / ranch pulled chicken sandwiches easiest / best thing I have ever made

1 package taco seasoning
1 package dry hidden valley ranch seasoning
2 lb's boneless skinless chicken breast
1 can or box chicken broth

rinse chicken and put in crockpot
shake seasoning packets on chicken
pour chicken broth over chicken
put crockpot on low and leave alone for about 6 hours (I do flip the chicken a couple times thoughout.

when chicken is done it will fall apart put it on a plate just use 2 forks and shred it. put back into crockpot mix with juices. I serve this with shredded lettuce and cheese on hamburger buns. its amazing and then the left overs we made chicken burritos the next day

You can use a bunch of chicken breasts and pour salsa over it, and cook it in the crock pot all day, then shred it up and make soft tacos with it. I personally think it needs more flavor than the salsa gives it, and I'm sure there are some recipes online for it. Also, another idea is making taco meat from hamburger and leaving it in the crockpot on warm.

pulled pork
sloppy joes
shredded chicken for soft tacos
We also have a turkey roaster and use that to keep burgers, hotdogs, brats, BBQ chicken etc warm during parties!

I do pulled pork in the crockpot. I usually cook it in the crockpot the day before, shred it and add BBQ sauce, refrigerate it overnight and then heat it up in the crockpot the next day, serving with rolls and cole slaw. Not everyone eats pork though so I've have some chicken as well. I usually bake some chicken legs with BBQ sauce in the oven and have those on hand for those who don't eat pork.

E., this is a very easy recipe that is done in the crockpot. We make it all the time! The prep time is short, it sits in the crockpot all day, and it says to shred with a fork at the end but my experience has been it takes very little shredding as the meat is falling apart at the end.

You could also do meatballs in a crockpot (think meatball subs, or sweet and sour meatballs with a few sides), little smokies. I have also seen people do mass hot dogs in a crock pot (check pinterest)- I think they just chuck em all in there and it warms em up.

For my hubby's 40th I set up a taco bar with a huge crockpot full of taco meat and all the fixings. I also did a smaller crock pot with nacho-cheese sauce and had a bowl of tortilla chips so they could make nachos or tacos or taco salad whatever the preference. I actually used ground turkey instead of beef because it was alot cheaper then beef and no-one noticed a difference or if they did it didn't matter because everyone ate and it was all gone by the end of the party. I also did a huge bowl of cut up fruit(watermelon, strawberries, honeydo etc..) It was a hit and it was cheap and could all be prepared rather quickly ahead of time.

Meatballs! You can serve them with toothpicks. You can do regular beef ones and buffalo chicken ones (google the recipe, may be on martha stewart). Now that I think about it those may take a while to prep also. If you cook a pork roast that would shred up really easy. Have fun!

In addition to what the others suggested, you might want to have some cold cuts with rolls available....turkey, roast beef, salami, pepperoni, etc.

Make a taco stack. cooked hamburger in the crockpot. Bowls of tortilla chips, chopped lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, olives, hotsauce, sour cream, etc. Super fun and easy. People make their own stack with what they like on their plate.

I've done pulled pork and it works well.
For a teen party, I did a taco bar.
Meatballs are good for appetizers.

I saw a recipe on FB today for some bbq chicken breasts . It was a slow cooker recipe with Sweet Baby Ray sauce, vinegar, pepper and sounded delish!

Burgers, hotdogs and brats are always good but I understand about someone staying at the grill for those.

Oh and ribs are great too!
