M..
Well, I had the baby bullet and it SUCKED!!
I went to Target, and bought a Ninja, not the big one that is really expensive, its the smaller version, at I believe was $20 and its AWESOME!!
I love it!
Hi Moms - I've always wanted a food processor, but I've never bought one. I dream of a nice big cuisinart type, but in reality I dont know how much use I would get out of it. I hate to spend a lot of money on something that will just collect dust. I have a big kitchenaid that I use for most things. I really need something I can make quick smoothies in, blend soups, make bean dip, fresh salsa, guac, etc.
I have a decent blender, but its not very cooperative with thick mixtures. I have to add a lot of liquid to get it to process, and its a big pain.
Does anybody have a review of the Magic Bullet? Or a recommendation for a smaller-sized, budget-friendly food processor?
Many Thanks!

I actually love my Magic Bullet. Great for smooties and the things you have described. Maybe I am nuts but never had any problems and use it quite a bit!
I have the Ninja and I'm really pleased with it. I bought the one that has three different-sized blender "containers" - the same motor fits the top of all three. My only complaint is that I can't stack the containers in the cupboard - the multiple pieces take up considerable precious cupboard space.
I have a Ninja and love it. I've made salsa, pico, guacamole dip, smoothies, blended soups, chopped veggies w/it and also grinded up ice to make sno cones. All in all I think it's great, very powerful, I have no complaints. :0)
I have the Magic Bullet and I hate it, I rarely use it. The infomercial makes it out to be so much better than it actually is. I have a simple food processor, Hamilton Beach is the brand I believe that someone gave us for our wedding 10 years ago. That thing I swear will never die. It's not cool, only has two buttons ON or PULSE. But it does everything I need it to. I did however get a Blendtec which they are pricey but totally worth their money if you ever want to get a kitchen splurge:)
I love my Bullet! I make protein shakes and smoothies every day. I do notice you have to stop it and sometimes shake it a bit,(sometimes the fruit sticks to the walls) but other than that it blends good, and is easy to clean as long as you rinse the cup out after your done.
I bought a Bullet today and tried to make a smoothie with an apple and spinach. I've made it many times with a Vitamax but find the container to be a hassle to clean, some of the smoothie doesn't pour out. I filled the Bullet with the cut up apple, a few leaves of spinach and an ice cube. I had to add some water. It was difficult to get blended and actually contained a couple of large chunks. And.....it only made about a half a cup even tho the container was full to start with.
So I doubt that it works for smoothies. Using softer fruits will make it better but only a half cup of liquid is not enough.
I read the recipes and think I 'll use it for grinding cheese, mixing small batches such as salad dressing, scrambled eggs, chopping herbs, mixing powders with liquids (health drinks). There are recipes for dips, salsa, and beverages. That sort of thing.
However, I think a small food processor would have been a better choice. My daughter has one that's 2 c. in size. The bowl has straight sides so that I could clean it with a spatula. And it wouldn't take up much more space than a Bullet. It will do all the same things except maybe the smoothies. I've not tried those in a food processor.
I had a large Cuisanart (8c.) food processor and used it all the time. It did take up too much counter space but I still left it on the counter.
I bought the Bullet because it was on sale for $49.95. I'd been seeing it listed for $79.95. And it seemed like it would do everything I wanted in a small space. I have a friend who uses hers all the time for mixing healthy drinks. I'll have to ask her about smoothies.
I love the Vitamax and will continue to use it often, especially for smoothies. I think I would've bought a Ninja instead but it was an impulse purchase. The Ninja has different sized containers and I think a detachable blade. I'm not sure about that. And.....it's about half as much as a Vitamax. ($250) I've heard good things about the Ninja.
i have a magic bullet i think its awesome but its kinda small .. i mainly use it for making smoothies/shakes.. stuff like that.. ive had mine for a while maybe theyve made a bigger attachment for it .. its great if you dont need to make big servings of anything.. if you do i would go with something else
I LOVE my Magic Bullet for smoothies and a few other things. For my smoothies I use frozen berries mostly, sometimes other fruits. I use it nearly every day. It makes the best smoothies ever. The trick is to use enough liquid and not to fill it past the marked line.
For other chopping needs I use my food processor. I would be lost without it. Chopping veggies, making salsa, etc. I even use it to make whipped cream with the little whisk attachment. I've had the same Braun food processor since 1993. It will probably need to be replaced this year.
Ha so I am not the only one that thinks the bullet SUCKS! I was so excited when I “won” it playing the white elephant game 2 Christmas ago and have used it ONCE! It is collecting dust, I should donate it. I am so going to check out the Ninja. I have a blender with a Stay or Go Cup which is awesome for smoothies.
