hi guys ivebeen kind of worried. my husband and i noticed a small lump in baby's left breast. it started feeling like a nipple at first (non protruding) but its still under her nipple/breast area. the right side has a teeny one too but much smaller and barely noticeable. i saw on the internet that this was common and its nothing to worry about. have any of you guys noticed anything like this???? ill be checking with the ped about this soon. it seems to have grown a bit (not dramatically) but no signs of infection. i know that there is leftover maternal hormones but she s almost 6 mos!!!

What can I do next?

My daughter had this too. Dr. told me it was just hormones even at 6 months and nothing to worry about. She is 13 mos now and it is much smaller.

My daughter had this till she was 8 months old. I had her checked by the doctor and it was hormonal. When she goes for her next visit, just have the doctor take a look. Don't worry yourself, she is perfect! :):)

My daughter had this as well. I had the doctor check it out and he said it was hormonal and would disappear. It did. Ask your doc about it, but don't worry yourself! :-)

My son had a lump that we noticed around 4 months. His ped told us it was from hormones and not uncommon. It was gone by 10 months.

My daughter has this too on both sides. The doctor said it's totally normal due to hormones (I'm breastfeeding) and the first few months the doctor told me that milk can even come out. She's 10 months and like I said still has this. My doc told us not to worry.

Definitely get it checked out. Also, if you're breast feeding, eliminate all caffeine from your diet & eliminate your food allergens too. Common food allergens are Dairy, Wheat, & possibly soy. Also, if it is hormonal related, it would be good for you to eat as organic as possible b/c pesticides, herbicides will disrupt hormones as will too many processed foods. My daughter now two had them in both breasts. The doctor called them breast buds and that they were, as the other respondents had written hormonal. They have gone away...my daughter (another daughter) 7 months has them as well, still. While I am not worried about them I let her doctor know about them cause they are supposed to go away on their own I forget by what age....but I do know it is normal.

Our daughter had the same thing. I think I recall our Ped say it had something to do with my hormones (I was still breast feeding). The lump did go away so i haven't thought about it again. Good luck

My daughter had them too when she was an infant. The doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. They eventually went away but there was a time were they seemed like they were getting bigger but then went away. I'm sure it's not anything to worry about but if your not sure just call and talk to your doctor.

A.,
I went through this with my daughter. I freaked out of course and took her to the dr. The doc assured me that this was common in babies under a year old. The mothers hormones actually pass through the placenta. He said it is breast tissue but that it should take care of itself and go away within afew months. He assured me that it would be gone by the first birthday and it was ! Good luck

My daughter had this as well and it was an inflamed breast bud from hormones. Very normal and nothing to worry about. However, you should have your ped check it out to be sure.

Not to worry and believe your doctor. I had this as a baby. It is very common. I'm now 63 and always have perfect breast exams.
