The site ava gave below is the one I recommend as well. http://www.allrecipes.com is a WONDERFUL site. Most recipes tell you the nutritional facts for that meal, you can change how many servings to make, it creates a shopping list for you and you can save the recipes for later use. They have kid-friendly meals, entire meal plans (appetizer, main course, dessert, drinks) and so much more! I really recommend that site :)

You really do not have to CHANGE anything you eat. You just have to adjust the recipies you already have. Turn all of your carbs into whole grains. Even pastas and potatoes can be replaced. Barilla makes a "pasta plus" which not only drains of the starches found in pasta, but also adds omega 3 acids and a few extra vitamins. Eat red potatos and try to keep the peels on. Red and purple potatos have 1/4 of the starch as white potatos. Increase your veggies to 5 or more helpings a day. You can simply do this by making a dinner with veggies, and having a side salad with dinner, or snaking on veggies instead of other snacks you may eat. Only eat 2-3 helpings of fruit a day, they have sugars in them that are good in moderation, but bad, and cause diarrhea if they are consummed with excess. Try cambels.com and click on the healthy recipies. Another good site is allrecipies. com.

It's really easy to change most recipes to low fat ones. Replace all cheeses with non-fat or 2%, use ground turkey instead of beef, stock up on 100 calorie packs for snacks, keep fruits out on the counter so you see them and choose them for snacks.

My favorite low fat dessert is make some sugar free jello and get some frozen fruits (strawberries and blueberries are good) and some fat free whipped cream. Layer jello, fruit and whipped cream in parfait glasses. You can even add some low fat granola for crunch. So good and very low in calories and fat.

Stir fry is an easy way to get in veggies and keep fat out. Also, the healthy choice Campbells cream of (broccoli, chicken, cheese) combined with some grilled chicken breast is very healthy with some brown rice.

You really have to explore your grocery store and not speed through only getting what's typically on your list.

Congrats for making a lifestyle change! I am working on sticking to one myself!
