I have 4 children. I am not over weight, but I have a small pouch ((( I feel like a kangaroo LOL..... ))). I would like to TRY to get it smaller or to get it to go away.
Will sit ups help? How about running or walking?

What exercise's do you mama's think is best to help you loose some baby fat. ( I had my last child - 6 months ago. )

Thank you for your advice.

Walking/running will burn calories and fat all over, but those activities don't "tone".

Try crunches on an exercise ball and yoga or pilates. Yoga/pilates twice a week will make a difference in your overall muscle tone and balance out the intensity of running.

PLANKS! Every form of them. They are wildly effective for toning the abdominal area. Google them, or look on YouTube to show you how to do them. They are so tough, but stick with them. And they don't take long, either. Maybe a minute to a minute and a half each, which you will probably have to build up to.

eating flour products, (processed food in general) dairy and anything with sugar in it will give you the flabby stomach. Stop eating them and eat clean food, along with some exercise and you'll be in great shape.

You will have to do both cardio to lose some fat and then some toning like sit ups to make the area look better.. Just sit ups will give your stronger ab muscles but those are UNDER the pooch so you won't be able to see them unless you lose the fat too. lol!

Nutrition, genetics, cardio exercise, and strength training may help get rid of the pouch. You cannot spot train.

Another poster mentioned planks - absolutely! They work on the TVA (transverse abdominus) muscle, which sort of 'wrap' around the midsection. The muscles are deep and act like a corset or girdle. Tighten and tone them and they give the appearance of a narrower waist. HOWEVER...you can have a six-pack of abs but still have them be well insulated if there is a layer of fat protecting them. You can't spot-exercise them off but good overall cardio can help.

All the situps in the world won't help much if you don't address the fat on top of it through nutrition.

You need to do "transverse abdominal" exercises. Look them up! You can look up anything on Youtube and see how it is done. I have the same issue and this is how you get rid of the poochy belly!!! Pilates classes are awesome too (lots of planks in those)! What I do is try to eat right with very little processed white grains (I try!). I also run and take a weight class called Power Up at the YMCA which really works out your whole body. This has gotten all of me into shape except for the pooch of a belly I have. I have done a bunch of reading on this and have now started doing transverse abdominal exercises. They say this will do the trick! Good luck :)
