Looking to Donate a Car Seat

I have a Cosco convertible car seat that I'd like to donate to someone in need (or an organization that will get it to someone in need). The seat is used, but we only used it for 2 months. It has never been involved in an accident and to the best of my knowledge, it is in perfect condition. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I don't find it very user-friendly. I can't buckle it with gloves on and I keep pinching my skin when I'm not wearing gloves. Also, once you loosen the straps to get your little one out, it is somewhat difficult to tighten them again. Does anyone know someone who could use this seat? Or an organization that would want it? I would be happy to deliver it within the Twin Cities metro.

What can I do next?

We could use it at Family Medical Center, 5 West lake Street in S. MPLS--clinic across from K Mart on Lake. We have many patients that can't afford to purchase one. Park in the back and go in the door under the yellow awning. You can leave it with the guard and say it's for J., or ask for me if you'd like. I work Tues 4-8, Thursday and Friday 9-4. You could also say it's for Diane, the social worker. She is here daily 9-4.

My 19 year old cousin had a baby a couple of months ago. I know she'd appreciate it. She can't even afford a crib for her baby. (I'm willing to give her mine but my son still sleeps in it) Her mom is no help and lives in FL. She really has no family to help her. If this is a option for you please let me know. I know no matter where you choose to take it you are making a good choice!

I don't know anything about Genesis II, but my first thought was a women's shelter. I'm sure they are always in need of things like that, and it ought to be pretty easy to find one pretty close to you. Good for you for donating it!

Try a crisis pregnancy center or battered woman's shelter!

L.,
Is this a forward facing car seat? I have a neighbor in dire need of one for about 10 days for her 12 month old granddaughter (she is big -- about a 2T for size) who is coming from Africa to visit for the holiday.

I could make arrangements to pick this up and then once she is done, I can provide her with the organizations others have listed in order to pass it on or get back to you as you wish

Please let me know.

Thanks
S.
