I'd say Gymboree or Little Gym. We did Gymboree for quite a while and my son liked it but once he started to lose interest-not listening to the instructor etc...we stopped.
I am looking for a weekly activity for my 2 1/2 year old son to do this fall and spring. Like karate, gymnastics, sports, etc. Similiar to taking a girl to dance and gymnastics twice a week. I can't find anything for boys let alone that take them at this age. Looking in flower mound, lewisville, coppell area but will consider further if need to. Any suggestions? Does any one currently do this with thier son? Thanks.

All of the rec centers will be coming out with their fall programs. Coppell's is already available online. Lewisville will be ready later this week. FM will be in September. We've got links in this week's newsletter on page 11...http://bit.ly/ZNV3e.
I also agree with Excite! along with WinKids (they have swim, gymnastics, etc.).
At this age, our kids did really well with a "sports sampler" where they did a new sport every week for 6 weeks. It was a great way to see what they liked, before investing in a whole season or any special equipment, shoes, etc.
Good luck!

Check out Excite Gymnastics & Cheer. They have 2 locations...one in Highland Village and one in Parker Square here in Flower Mound. They have all kinds of programs, including gymnastics and then a program called TNT which is tumbling and trampoline. My son absolutley loved it. The coaches are warm and encouraging and you can go just the "recreational route" or if he becomes really good, you could pursue the "competition route" with them. You can check them out at their website at www.excitegym.com. Good luck! S. C., Flower Mound
Hi C.,
I am the mom of three boys and keep them busy in many ways - karate at Turner's Martial Arts (they start at age 4), gym classses at WinKids in Flower Mound and Excite in Highland Village and swimming at AquaKids in Flower Mound. There are weekly story times at the libraries and at Barnes & Noble. We head to the park regularly. I found it is best for all of us to get out of the house as much as possible. I write about all sorts of local things to do and a lot of free events for moms and kids at www.BurbMom.net and another resource that is really good for you in this area is www.FamilyeGuide.com which has a weekly newsletter.
Good luck - you HAVE to keep boys busy to keep them out of trouble!

I've heard great things about Soccer Tots. Also, check out Everybody Fits (I think the website is everybodyfits.com) in Coppell. They have a fun sports program for toddlers.
C.,
The recreation center in Lewisville (Fredrick P. Herring Recreation Center - ###-###-####) has a lot of activities for little ones! And they are so affordable! You can see all of the activities online at www.cityoflewisville.com, then scroll down a little bit and look at the right side of your screen where it says "Quick Links" and click on 'WOW Brochure Classes and Activities.' Currently, it says "Summer 2009," so you will have to keep checking back until they list the fall stuff. I am anxiously awaiting myself! You can also check the CAC in Flower Mound for their fall classes and activities as well. Good luck!
I have a daughter that is 2 1/2 and we live in Coppell and I take her to gymnastics at Everybody Fits on Denton Tap- they also offer karate and other activites at Everybody Fits. I've also looked into Little Tots soccer and Little Sluggers baseball that start at age 18mos. and have several locations throughout the area. Hope this helps.
Try Winkids. My nephew has taken classes there. It is a little expensive, but my sister-in-law loves it.
Hi C.:
Thanks for the reminder! I meant to sign my 3 year old son up today!
There is Soccer Tots. They teach soccer and tee-ball. Ages start at 2!
It isn't nearly as expensive as other gyms I've looked into, so I figure we'd give it a shot...
You could try Little Gym or Soccer Tots
I took my son to Little Gym last school year he was 18 months at the time we started. Then I enrolled him in swim school for the summer. He starts preschool this fall and will continue swimming and maybe kids gym. There is also Gymboree they offer several different classes for his age.
I second Little Gym and you can also try SoccerTots and Lil Sluggers Baseball.
