We had personalized M&M's (mixed in with non-personalized as it can get expensive) in small little tins with clear top. Ribbon and then first intial stickers to hold ribbon down. Good luck.
I was wondering if anyone has attended a wedding recently or had any personal ideas for unique wedding favors? If you know of a gift shop, website or candy store that you have had good luck with, please feel free to share! thanks so much!

I saw a great idea. Luggage tags.. That way you can use them also to write in the guest name and table number.. Brilliant.. I just got the Lillian Vernon catalog and they have different color leather ones for $5.98 for 2!
Good Luck
A friend of ours took blank cd's and put all the wedding music, the song they had their 1st danced to, & then some..they also had a video/pictures of the couple at the reception which they also included on the cd. They made cute labels which had the couples names and date of the wedding at the top and then the guests names and table # at the bottom....very inexpensive...just took time...but it's one of our favorite cds we listen to and it's been the most memorable.
God Bless

We went to a liquor distributor and purchased mini bottles of champagne. Then we made our own personalized labels and put them on the bottles. People to this day have saved them . They were affordable and went over extremely well. We didnt have any still sitting on the tables. lol Good luck and Congrats to your daughter.
We did the personalized Hershey bars. I really liked it because it's usable, fun and consumable.
Hi Pam,
I am not sure how economical this is compared to other favors but my husband and I made CDs with our wedding music and other favorites on it. We bought the blank CDs, white CD holders, and labels. I liked the idea because it got my husband involved and he burned all of the CDs. Here is the site I got the labels from.

Good Luck!!
I looked for the same thing when we got married. There are some really unique things out there!
We did personalized corks/bottle stoppers (like for wine) - it was a regular cork and then the "head" had our names and the date of the wedding.
It was very cool and very usable! Our friends love that whenever they use it for their wine, they think of us (awweee!)
If you'd like info, I am sure I could dig up the book that we used to order them.
Congrats!

I've been to weddings where they've given out...
Lindt chocolate truffles (or something similar and tasty)
Pretty little bags of wild flower seeds to scatter
Sachets
Bookmarks with the happy couple's photograph and new contact information printed on them
I liked all of these.
My absolute favorite favor that I wish we had done at our wedding but I didn't find it until after was this...
Buy $1 lottery tickets, put them in vellum or styrene envelopes that are the same size with a shiny penny (with the year of the wedding if you can collect enough of them). Make a sticker on the computer (avery lables) that say "Lucky In Love...Bill and Judy and the wedding date! SO CUTE!!! Then one of your guests has the potential to win some money and they only cost you a buck for each ticket and about $12 for the envelopes and then of course the pennies. Cheap and people have so much fun scratching them off! I did it as a gift for my frined that got married last fall. One of her guests won $500 and gave it back to the couple for their honeymoon!!!
We are getting married in July and are doing bottle openers that look like keys. I found them on Ebay and I got a great deal on them. They are in a box with a ribbon and everything. I think I paid 1.25 a piece. Something else that we tossed around was cookies. You can have them personalized for pretty cheap at your local bakery.
they have some cute, inexpensive stuff
My husband and I did the personalized Hershey's bars (mini-size)which you can check out at www.wrappedhersheys.com and also did personalized pens... We bought them online, and I think they ended up costing about $2 each. They had personalized messages inside that changed as you clicked the pen. Very usable.
I love the cd idea from jw. I went to a wedding last spring and they had the simplest but cutest favors. All they did was buy stainless steel cookie cutters in different shapes like hearts, butterflies, etc. Then they attatched a tag on them that said "cut out for love, jenny and phil-nov.15,2002." (mine and my husbands name and anniversary). Everyone got to take home the cookie cutters. They may have not even been stainless steel but they looked like it. It was really cute.
At another wedding they gave photos of themselves to each person as a favor. They made copies of various pictures they had taken of themselves (some funny-some serious), added a graphic of their names and wedding date to the bottom of the pic. And just placed them at each place setting. If you are obligated to invite a lot of people that your daughter is not close to then this may not be the best idea. Some people will have no use for a photo of the couple! But for a family or personal wedding this is great.

im getting married in Sept and i was(am) looking for the samething and we were going to do pic frames on hte table. I found them for $1 online but i got alot of people tell me that if you don't do eatable favors things will just get left behind and you will waist alot of money. So were still looking........i sighned up to the knot and alot of brides have there bios up and you can see and get ideas from things they are or have done.
whens your wedding??
I love the potted flower gift. At the dollar store you can but mini pots and then a packet of flowers. Get some nice ribbon and wrap them together or you can use cellophane.I know most men would not want this but you can do candy or something for them. Also a cute and fun idea for all is to buy really cheap cute toys from your childhood. It is relaxed and it will really put your guests in a reminising mood because they will start talking about all the toys they played with when they were kids. And you can tie all the toys together with a jumprope!!
A few ideas:
1) Make a donation to a favorite charity and let the guests know that's what you're doing. I like this one because people, in general, really don't need a lot of little trinkets.
2) I have friends who love to cook so they put together a mini recipe book of their favorite recipes. We helped assemble them and they turned out very cute and cheap.
3) My husband and I gave out little purse-sized calculators, because we're both engineers, and had "count on love" with our names and date put on them. They were only about $2.25 apiece. I wasn't sure how useful they were, but everyone seems to carry them in their purse, pocket, co-workers still have them on their desks, etc.
My husband and I got bags of Hersheys Hugs & Kisses & had someone make little circle lablels to stick on the bottom of them. They were white & in Burgundy (color we chose) it had two wedding bells & it said Jason & E., September 8, 2006. We got to choose the color, the picture, the writing, & the font. This was great because then we stuck the stickers to the bottom of the hugs & kisses & then wrapped 3 of each (3 hugs & 3 kisses) together with white tule circles (found at Wal-Mart or any craft store) and then tied them all together with a favor tie - we did half as silver bells & half as hearts, and a tag that said "Thank You for coming" on one side & "Hugs & Kisses" on the other.
It was a lot of work because we had 100 to do, but it was worth it - everyone loved them and was very impressed that we did them ourselves (we had a little help from my mom & sister). But, this is something cheaper and easy to do! What's great about this idea is, you can customize it to fit your theme in any way! They don't have to be Hugs & Kisses, it can be one or the other or any other candy - and the color of the ink can be made to fit your color scheme.
We put kisses in tooling and wrapped the tops with the color ribbon that matched our colors, I was also at a wedding where the bride and groom bought plastic spoons and put kisses on the end and wrapped them in tooling and put ribbon around them, of course, matching the colors with a tag that said "A spoonful of kisses from the Mr. and Mrs. It was very cute.
Good luck. I really liked the one about the $1 scratch offs!
When my husband and I were married, we made our own CD. It's really easy to do. It's time consuming (depending on the number of people you are going to have), but it gave us a chance to add our own personal touch to everyone's gift. you can buy a kit for labels at Best Buy. We also bought champagne glasses and had our names and the date printed on them.
I would do Jordan Almonds.
We were married in March - on February 15, I went to Marshall Field's and bought 200 heart-shaped boxes of Frangos. Since we were married in our hometown (not in Illinois) not everyone had tasted Frangos before and they were a big hit. Oh, and 75% off. I think they were less than $1 each. Timing is key.
Chocolates and CDs are favors I've enjoyed. One bride had a wedding with a calla lilly theme, and she made her own calla lilly chocolates and boxed them. My sister-in-law makes homemade chocolate truffles and candies and she and her mom made a small box of those for each guest. Lots of work, but much appreciated and yummy.
My favorite favor ever would probably be too expensive if you don't have the connections - our friend works in print production, so she asked a dozen of her graphic artist friends, including my husband, to each make a notecard design. Then she called in favors with her printer contacts to have them printed as blank notecards on nice heavy stock. Every guest got a pretty packet (tied with a ribbon) of a dozen unique notecards and envelopes.
When we got married we wanted to give a wedding favor that people would actually use. I checked out a number of the vendors that we get catalogs from at work for branding type stuff and waited for something good to go on clearance. We ended up getting some very high end pens with a quote, our names, and our wedding date on them. I can't remember what they ended up costing but I am very frugal so I am sure that it was less than 50 cents each. There are a number of companies our there and it is amazing what all they can do. You may also want to check out Oriental Trading. They have some cute inexpensive stuff for favors as well.
i found cute little favors online. just type in "wedding favors" in your search engine and a bunch of site pop up. cute and inexpensive too. also micheals crafts stores have little white or metal pails that you can add whatever to. they also have other things too. congrats and good luck
