Hi! You're going to love all the things to do in Lowell and the area. For a spray park go to Manning State Park in Billerica. In July and August there will be free (please make a donation to this wonderful program) children's concerts at Boarding House Park and check out the adult schedule, kids are free to those too.

Hi Michele,
there is a spray park in Billerica on RT 129. It is on the Chelmsford Billerica line, it is not as fancy as Shedd park, but is usually less crowded and is wooded, so it's nice and shady, just remember to bring bug spray. Also you may want to check out the Chelmsford Community Playroom. It is an indoor playgroup that meets 2x a week during the school year also on RT 129 in Chelmsford, but open to surrounding towns as well. It's a great way to meet people, and something cheap and fun to do in the winter. www.chelmfordplayroom.org

The one in Dracut is at Veterans Memorial Park. Nothing fancy (no buckets/flowers, etc.), but just a true spray area with water coming out of the ground. There is also a playground right next to it.

You may want to look into joining a mom's group in your area. I am a member of the Mother Connection based out of North Andover (I live in Haverhill) and it is a huge volunteer based organization that has stuff going on all summer long. Most free, some with a nominal fee. I know they have some sprayparks on their calendar this summer. It is a great way to come out and meet moms in your community. Let me know if you want more information. We are in the process of updating our website, but feel free to check it out:

Good luck, welcome to the area and I hope you have a great summer!!

There is a spray park in Dracut. I can't remember what it is called, but similar to Shedd Park, I think it is near a playground. There may be one in Billerica as well that is part of a state park (that one I'm not so sure of). The Chelmsford Mothers' Club has a great book of things to do with kids in the area that includes all the parks, indoor play places, etc. If you are new to the area, it is a wonderful resource. I grew up here, and I still use it all the time with my son.
