I think my 2 1/2 year old is ready to go to preschool for a few hours 2-3 days a week so he can socialize with other children but I have no idea how to choose the right school for him. I live in Bellevue one exit before Issaquah. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Many preschools start at 3 years old and require potty training. Its good to look now though since registration starts early in the year for next September.
My daughter is in the SAGA School in Issaquah - www.sagaschool.org. They have 2 locations, one in Seattle and one in Issaquah. It's German language immersion, MWF, 9.30-1.30.

Check out http://www.savvysource.com/preschools. They have a list of many of the preschools sorted by area, many of which have reviews and additional information. It's a semi new site, so it's still collecting data, but if nothing else, it's a good place to find preschools in your area.

Good luck!

Hi there, Bellevue College offers a fantastic 2 day preschool for those turning 3 in the next few months in the Factoria area. Here is there website:

Look for the Factoria 2 day class. Good luck :-)

Do you work or are you a stay at home mom? If you stay at home and have the time, a co-op preschool might be right for you. In a co-op, you participate in the class and it's usually a 2 day a week program to start. Bellevue Community College offers a program that I hear is very good. My son and I started in one in Edmonds when he was two.

Newport Covenant Church
Aldersgate
YMCA Lake Heights, which I believe is meeting in the old Newport Heights Elementary School in Newport Hills

All have excellent programs, excellent teachers, and did an awesome job preparing my son for Kindergarten.

If you're able, Bellevue Community College offers a bunch of co-op preschool classes for a range of ages. I think that would be close to you. They also have locations in Issaquah, Sammamish, and various spots in Bellevue. Check their website under parent education for the list of classes. Good luck!
