Hey C.!
I'm 17.5 weeks pregnant and have been looking for a walking partner. I live in Plano. I'm also glad you asked this because now I see other options as well. If you are looking for an exercise partner, let me know!
I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and we just moved into the area from the Northeast. My new OB/GYN has given me permission to exercise, but I'm not sure what's avaiable in the Plano, Frisco, North Dallas area? Any suggestions?
Hey C.!

I go to 24 hour fitness in Allen and LOVE the aqua aerobics....we have had several pregnant women come in and the instructor, Linda, is awesome on modifying exercises or checking on you throughout to make sure you are good. The workout is challenging too so it is great as far as low impact but good work out. She teaches M and W and then there is someone else on Friday; used to be K., but not sure anymore. She was really good too.
It has been a long time since I was pregnant, my daughter is 14. However, my Dr. and hospital was Medical Center of Plano.
Through the hospital, there was an exercise class for pregnant women. It was one of the most fun classes I had. I continue to have friendships with some of the women who were in the class with me. I participated right up until 2 weeks before giving birth to my daughter.
We always had a good, safe workout in a safe location (the hospital) and then after someone had their baby, we had little socials together to hear all about the birth, etc.
Congratulations!
Congratulations C.,
We have several pregnant moms that participate in our Aquatic Classes at Aqua~Fit Learn to Swim & Wellness Center.
I used to teach at the Medical Center of Plano and since they closed all out-patient services, I created my own company and moved all my programs to an indoor warm salt/mineral water aquatic center.
We would love to have you try our classes.
The first fitness class is always free.
We also have yoga and pilates.
We also offer swimming lessons and have programs for special children.

Check out Destination Maternity on 635 and the Tollway. They have tons of great free classes! They have prenatal yoga 4 days a week and a great Strong Mamas weight class Thursday nights. The best part is, it's all free!
Presbyterian Hospital (75 and Walnut Hill) has a great water aerobics class offered T/Th/Sat that makes you feel light as a feather.
If you have time during the day, the girl who teaches Strong Mamas at Destination Maternity does her own bootcamp class M/W/F for an hour each morning.
If you want any more info, feel free to hit me up! :)
Try FIT Physical Therapy in Frisco. They're great!
Not sure what type of fitness activities you have done in the past but I was instructed to keep doing what you were doing and begin to modify as needed. Good instructors can provide you with modification moves that give you a great workout. I worked out with both kids until 2 wks before delivery. At the time I was doing a hi/low and step aerobics. Delivery was great and my recovery was better. I found working out made me feel better and gave me energy. Congratulations on your upcoming birth!
Hi C.,
If you are close enough to the shops at Watters Creek. I am offering a Fit4Baby Prenatal Class there, beginning Wed., July 29th at 7:30 pm.

The first class is always free so please feel free to come try it out. The best part is that after you have delivered your baby and are clear for exercise, you can join us for the Stroller Strides class! It's a wonderful way to bond with your baby and meet other moms like you!

Texas Boot Camp has a great pre-natal boot camp class that tailors specifically to your trimester and ability. It meets in McKinney and the prices are really reasonable and the instructor is great! They also have a post-natal class for after you have the baby where you can bring the baby, too. I took this one and it was great- my little girl loved it. You can find more information at www.texasbootcampllc.com. Highly recommended!
I took classes with Courtney in McKinney, but there are lots of other options, too. LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Will absolutely go back when (God willing) I get pregnant with #2. I went right up until a week before I delivered--literally, the first Wednesday class I missed, I had this strong feeling that I should go to the store to run some errands I needed to do instead of go to class--and as I was in the check-out line, GUSH, my water broke! I maintained my mobility, and yoga felt GREAT--I'd come home every week, even at 8 1/2 mos along, and tell DH I wish I could just do yoga CONSTANTLY, 'cuz it felt so good!
