Try Healthy Kids Pediatrics in Frisco off Lebanon and Legacy. I've heard great things about Dr. Bain and the issue of vaccinations.
I need a pediatrician that doesn't require vaccinations. We were politely told we would no longer be seen by our pediatrician yesterday because we chose not to go forward with vaccinations. We live in Plano, but I am willing to drive within the metroplex.

We use Dr. Bain in Frisco as well and love her. My son is on a delayed schedule for his vaccines. I have a family history of autism (TWO cousins) and wanted to go slow with him.Just an FYI she gives the MMR vaccine seperately so it's three shots instaed of one and they are spaced out. She is also great for handing out helpful information on vaccines and healthy diets. She believes that a lot of childhood illnesses can be prevented by a healthier diet.

Just wanted to ask you why you don't want vaccinations. Have you had a bad reaction to one or are you worried about future problems? Just asking b/c I work in healthcare at Medical Center of Plano and I am finding more and more cases of measles etc in the Plano area b/c people are not vaccinating and we have a large illegal population from Mexico that are bringing these illnesses across the border. We are starting to see children with long term effects from these illnesses that could have been prevented. Not criticizing your choice but I am not sure what people tell you, what you read etc.
By the law of the state of Texas, unless your child isn't going to be attending any of those which I will list proceeding this sentence, you don't have to get a vaccine.
*Child care (where they will be around other children)
*School (unless they're homeschooled, this includes college)
I wish I had my booklet! lol. It has so much information. You can request it from your pediatrician's office. It tells you the pros and cons, and it gives you numbers to people you can contact about WHATEVER questions you have about vaccinations and whatnot.
You don't HAVE to get your kids vaccinated. However, if you choose to place them in childcare or school - where they will interact with the public - you will have to get an exemption form. NO SCHOOL OR CHILD CARE SERVICE CAN TURN YOU AWAY IF YOU HAVE THE EXEMPTION - IT IS ILLEGAL!
Here's a list of helpful links that will lead you to helpful info about texas and the laws about vaccine exemption, lawyers who are for it, and the slightly mandatory HPV vacc that's now going into affect (that I just found out about :( - ha?)

Lastly, my pediatrician at Kids Klinic in Irving is wonderful about not forcing people to give their kids vaccines. I told her I didn't want to, and she gave me the booklet as well as info (from the government), and she gave me a letter stating her personal beliefs about vaccines. I was impressed after some of the horror stories I've heard from other mothers I know.
Dear B.,
As the mother of a child who, I firmly believe, wound up with mercury poisoning from his vaccines, I know how difficult it is to find a pediatrician who does not force vaccines. Even with titers which showed that my son had toxic levels of measles virus in his system, our former pediatrician insisted on giving him more simply because it was on the schedule, when I refused, he kicked us out of his practice. Fortunately, we were referred to Aaron Kaplan, D.O. He has an office in Plano Presbyterian (which is just west of the Tollway) and he is awesome. Good luck.
Girl- I understand your trouble!!! We were in the same position a few months ago. We now have a wonderful doctor in Allen!!! He knows a ton about vaccines and he is VERY supportive of not vaccinating or using a different schedule. His name is Daniel Chartrand and his office is out of the Allen Birthing Center. Google Harmony Family Health and it should take you to his website. He is actually a family doctor but he obviously sees kids and can act as a pediatrician. He is great and he keeps a smaller practice so he is alwasy accessible to his patients. I live in Plano as well and it is only a 15 minute drive or so. He is worth it :) Good luck and let me know if there is another way I can help.
You ought to try Dr Deborah Bain at Healthy Kids Pediatrics in Frisco.

We use and were highly referred to clinical pediatric associates. They have let me go slow with the shots. I was over 9 behind and they let me go a whole year without giving shots, and we are giving them closer to after age 2 years. Dr Shorelemer. They are across from Presby Dallas. Good luck. I just read all the other posts. We used to go to Dr. Bain and switched even though my new Dr. is much farther away. They treat the parents well and with love. The are so they have ben aroundthe block and are open for calls a all hours and will if need be see your child on Sun.
Hi,
Try Dr Daniel Chartrand at Harmony Family Health in Allen ###-###-####)
Or Dr Deborah Bain in Frisco ###-###-####)
We've used both and have been very pleased!
Good Luck.
Dr Chartrand at Harmony Family Health in Allen. You will not be disappointed.
B.,
I just want to say you are a great mom . My son was vaccine injured and to read that someone in the medical field qwuestioned you makes my stomach turn. IF YOU READ dR. sEARS BOOK ON vACCINES OR Stephanie Caves book you will get some more info. Also get Dr, Tempenney's new book on Vaccines. More than half of the so called "measles Outbreak" kids were vaccintaed. I would LOVE it if my child had measles instead of AUtism. Read "Deadly Immunity" by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. You can google that article. It shows you the truth of what is going on. You can go on www.tacanow.org and read some more. Dr. Bain IN frisco can help. The docs at Willlow Bend Pediatrics in Plano aree suppose to be very helpful. Your kid is lucky to have you. Keep going with your gut. DO the reading and follow your common sense too. My son had 29 vaccines before he was 15 months old. He was a happy baby , talking, pointing, laughing and then boom we lost him a week after his DpaT and then his MMR. READ READ READ and READ the sources that don't have a finacial gain to their story! Those books I mentioned will help you.
Keep it up and protect your baby. No one else will!!!

B.,
Contrary to what some have said, you DO NOT have to vaccinate your kiddos for them to attend public school, you will have to get the waiver done though. Here are the people that I usually recommend to my childbirth students that are looking for no vax, altered vax, or such:
Dr. Daniel Chartrand (office is at the Allen Birthing Center)
Dr. Deborah Bain (Frisco)
Dr. Cheryl Eley (McKinney)
or Dr. Kim Smith (Allen, however you need to sign their waivers and make sure that if you are altered vaxing that you have a sched. organized as they won't do it for you)
... I have a student that just switched to Dr. Norman Minsky in Plano and really likes him too.(3804 W. 15th). For altered vaxers and trad. vaxers he has an office policy of 2 vax max, which is much better/safer than the traditional overload.
Hopefully you will find someone that will support your choices. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
Dr Chartrand

Dr. Tammy L. Kennedy in Dallas off of Lovers Lane. She does vaccinate but does not pressure you if you wish not to go forward with it. Mine are not vaccinated and I did a free consultation with her before my boys became her doctor. I was pleased. But they are just too far from me and I ended up taking my boys back to my Family physician in Medical City of Dallas. He has been our doctor for quite a while before we adopted and I did sign a waiver stating that I did not vaccinate by choice with my first son after we I sat down with some questions regarding vaccines. I was not convinced and choose not to go forward with it. They respected my decision and have ever since.
Dr. Kennedy's # is ###-###-####, 5470 Lovers Lane, Suite 330, Dallas, Texas 75209.
And as others have stated it is NOT required to have your children immunized to attend school. A simple waiver filled out by you will do. Every state offers either a religious, medical or Philosophical exemption. Texas offers both a religious or philosophical exemption. Here is just one of many internet sites that can help you: http://home.san.rr.com/via/STATES/allstates.htm
I wish you the best in finding good care that matches your concerns and cares regarding your children. It's not always easy to go against the "norm" in raising your children. ")

We use Dr. Bain and love her. Her NP is great too! I would heavily consider her alternative vaccine schedule (similar to Dr. Sears' in his vaccination book). If you choose not to vaccinate at all (like a friend of mine did), you'll be in a pickle when your child is 2 or 3 and you are ready to put him/her in a MDO or preschool program and no private school (most good ones are private and they don't have to take the vaccine waiver) will take him or her. At that point, you would have to double up on necessary vaccinations in order to meet the school's requirements - and that could be less safe. Unless you can afford a nanny/sitter until he/she is school aged, it could become an issue. Many schools are very strict that their students all be vaccinated.
My advice... Read Dr. Sears' vaccine book, start on Dr. Bain's alternative schedule and watch his or her shot reactions early on in the process. She will too! If your child seems to have reactions to shots, you can delay even more. Some children are more sensitive than others. Dr. Bain also stresses that a child be completely healthy when she gives a shot, so she is watching out for that too.
Go to one of Dr. Bain's meet and greets. You will love her. And good luck!
We see Dr. Aaron Kaplan at Plano Presby. They have always been great with us. We started their in 2001 with our first born. ###-###-####
Just wanting to reiterate what moms have already said (since there were so many wrong on this one): You do NOT have to have your child immunized to go to public or private schools. I have the forms from the Health Dept. for the State of Texas stating so. My son is in public school and I already have the waiver form that I am waiting to get notarized for when his next dose of vaccinations come up in December. I have one for my daughter when I need it.
My son has had most of his vaccinations already. He is 4 1/2 and special needs. This year I have been learning a lot about diet therapy and in the process I came across so much info on vaccinations that I said, "NO more". For right now anyway. I know there is a "safe" way to vaccinate...haven't read up on that yet.
Last week I took my daughter for her 2 year checkup and told the nurse I want to wait on her shots for now and she just looked at me like, "What?!?" It was a great feeling to stand for what I believe is in the best interest of my child and not be intimidated by someone else!
Go with your mommy gut. It is never wrong! (usually) :-)

I would try Dr. Chartrand at Harmony Health in Allen. He is family practice, but sees a good number of children. He is excellent about giving natural advice as well as the traditional options. His office is in the Allen Birthing Center building. Google for his office #.
Dr. Bain is WONDERFUL.....

Dr. Deborah Bain is incredible. I feel truly blessed to have found her!
I'm so sorry that your pediatrician didn't respect you or your wishes enough to continue to care for your children.
I am curious as to why you do not want to vaccinate your child. I assume you have had a bad experience. Are you planning to home school? I don't think you can enroll your child in public school, unless they have had the required vaccinations.
