Dr. Scharff was fine with spacing out the vaccinations while also explaining pros/cons.

Does anyone know of a pediatrician that is okay with a delayed vaccination schedule and can steer us in the right direction as far as what is most important? We are wanting a more holistic health/Naturopathic pediatrician. I am not anti-vaccinations, but would like to rule out some that are not as important and slow them down. My son is 7 months old and has had 2 rounds of his shots. I am wanting to stop vaccinating him for a while, and I am already tired of fighting with my Dr. We are in the Scottsdale area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's a drive for you but check out
http://naturallynurturing.net. I just went to a lecture on preventing/treating ear infections naturally and it seems like a great place!
Dr. Campbell at Camelback Pediatrics is also fine with waiting. My 5 year old is still not caught up & our 2 1/2 year old has only had 2 or 3 total since birth. You will have to sign something stating you are refusing, no big deal. She is more conservative than Dr. Sharff (mentioned in another response) so I go to either one depending on what I want... Dr. Campbell if I want a referral to a specialist or Dr. Sharff if I want someone to tell me everything will be just fine:) They are not very Naturopathic but do not give you a hard time for not wanting the vaccinations.
Hi K.!
I have a friend who is a Naturopathic Doctor at the Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center who solely practices pediatrics. She is fanastics with kids and will definitely be able to work with you on your vaccinations along with providing the normal role of pediatrician (ie. well visits, sick visits). Her name is Dr. Jessica Mitchell and I highly encourage you to go see her. The number at the office is ###-###-####

Dr Kanagal was fine with it as well infact I decided not to do any more and she is fine with that as well. Even though there is signs everywhere to vaccinate she leaves up to the parents to decide there own schedule if they wish.
She's on Shea and 74th st Scottsdale children group
my favorite was Dr. Cannon, Dr. Sotello. They were always open to my feelings. They were on pima and mountain view????
Dr. Rajeev Agarwal is the BEST pediatrician that I have ever encountered, hands down. He is an excellent patient/parent educator. To answer your question, he is flexible with vaccinations (as long as you have done your due diligence and researched the pros and cons) and is not quick to prescribe meds when a simple watch and wait will do.
Yet, when my daughter come down with a serious GI bug he was right on the money with her course of treatment. The end result was a trip to the ER, but called ahead first so they new exactly what we were coming for and we didn't waste any time sitting around in the waiting room. I really could go on and on...I'd drive many miles to see this ped. over anyone else.
You can google his name or Desert Ridge Children's Center to find him.
We take our 3 kids to Dr. Baral at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Scottsdale. I think he is a perfect blend of natural and traditional methods of medicine. He's great with kids, spends lots of time answering your questions, and is good about anwering his phone after office hours. He has a very balanced view of vaccinations - in favor of some, but fine with us not doing any. Their website is www.scnm.edu. Health insurance won't help out here, but if you make an appointment during a student shift it's much cheaper.
Hi! Please let me know if you find a pediatrician that spreads out the vaccines as well as rules out the ones that aren't as important. We are also in the Scottsdale area, and while we like our pediatrician, he doesn't recommend spreading out vaccines. I would love to find more of a conservative, holistic pediatrician. Thanks!
