Hi! I have been a SAH mom for almost 4 years now. My kids are 5, 3 and 6 mo. Just this winter I started to feel like my good girlfriends from my "former" life are now no longer my good girlfriends. I am friendly with the parents at my kids' school, but not friends. I've never had trouble making friends, but have always been in social situations (ie school, work, etc). I am lonely and the kind of girl that needs to have friends, soooooooooo I'm wondering if anyone knows of any mom's groups in the south suburbs? I'd most likely have to have my kids with me. I'd also be interested in getting involved in a class or volunteering with other women to meet some new people. Any ideas would really be appreciated. THANKS!!!

Hello! I actually am in the works of starting up a MOMS club for the Homewood/Flossmoor area. If you are interested in helping out please let me know! I am a teacher but stay home with my daughter during the summer and I have not found any playgroups in the area so I decided to start up my own chapter.

I ditto www.momsclub.org! I joined the chapter in my area when my son was 6 months old. He's now 3 and my daughter is 6 months and not only have I made some wonderful friends, they have too! If you don't see one for your area on the website, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just click on the city closest to you and you can ask if there is a closer one, if need be. Good luck!!

You should check out www.meetup.com You can search groups based on any topic of interest *stay at home moms*, *biking*, etc., and then you can join a group near you. Many are free or very minimal to join. I've made some great mommy friends through Meetup!
