Hi Moms,
I'm planning a birthday party for my two girls ages 6 and 4 at my home in October and was looking for some good ideas. I will be inviting kids from school and daycare. The girls love the Disney Princesses so was thinking along those lines but what do I do for the boys?
Appreciate any suggestions.

What can I do next?

Hi G.,
Here is an idea for the future since you have more than 2 kids.I came from a family of 5 and this seemed to work out exceptionally well for my parents. If you think you can handle it. Since all of our birthdays were in the fall/winter months which makes it harder to have something outside, this worked. Pick one day in the summer time to have a multi-kid birthday party for all kids at the same time. Have them invite as many number of friends each per your discretion. Have a pool, slip-slide, water games, water blasters, ring toss, clown, balloon twister, princesses, what ever the kids are into. Do it like a big family barbeque and either have 1 large cake or individual cakes for each child. This is a lot to handle in one day, but then again it is all over in one day. Then on each of the kids actual birthday you just have a little immediate family gathering with cake and 1 little present or their big present. I guess it's a matter of liking and I enjoyed it, especially when the yard was loaded with kids and fun and games, etc. I hope this makes sense to you. Good Luck, A.

my 2 yr old just went to a party which was Disney Princess themed, but on the invite, it said "wear you favorite princesses, storybook, or superhero costume." so the boys were superman and batman, stuff like that. the mom had hired someone who was dressed up like Cinderella to come to the party, and the boys seemed to enjoy it since she led some games, gave out candy, and had a dance party. other than that, the room was ALL PRINCESS but i didnt think any of the boys minded. oh yeah the boys party favor bags were of superheros instead of princesses. good luck!

Well, hmmm, you could do princesses and knights like a fairy tale theme, there are millions of things if you google that.
Tinkerbell and pirates???

eh, thats it, I'm stuck, I guess if you didn't want to try to plan a boy component to the theme, you could always just have a princess party and when it came time for the favors give out speed mcqueen favors, something boyish, or a neutral thing like playdough, or candy. If you know the boys and their families you might be able to sort of judge what would go over best.

How about a pirate party. My youngest are twins age six. I made a pirate cake (treasure chest) for my son and a princess castle cake for my daughter. My sons cake I made the treasure chest and had it a 1/4 of the way open and filled it with pirate money, rings, teeth, etc. from Disney's Pirate of the Carribean. They both loved them.

My girlfriend had a princess and pirate party for her daughter because boys were attending. All the boys got bandanas, eye patches and swords. The girls got princess crowns and wands. The cake was 1/2 princess 1/2 pirate but kids dont care. She also had a pony party once and the kids got cowboy hats/ cowgirls/cowboys pony pinata and pony rides.
