I am looking for a good hair stylist in the Grapevine/Southlake area, but am willing to travel a little further for someone who is worth it. I need someone who isn't anxious to scalp someone with long hair and understands me when I say that I am a working mom of a toddler with a baby on the way so I need something professional looking but easy to replicate and maintain.

Looks like you have a lot of great choices, but I have to add mine also. I am completely neurotic about my hair. I go to Mouton's on Hall Johnson and 121. Whitney Martin does my hair and I love her. Tiffany is also great there. They are all really wonderful and you can go from stylist to stylist as needed for your schedule. They work on salary so they don't mind.
I've been going to Shelton's Salon and Day Spa in Bedford for several years now. Ask for Kelly! She is the only person I will let cut my hair, as she understands that I am also a working mom of 2 little ones who works in a professional environment. She knows just the right cut/color/style that will give you an easy to maintain, but still very stylish look. I can't say enough about her - she's wonderful and so fun to talk to as well! But book early because she stays full!
Hi! This is a little further than you said, but my hairstylist is EXCELLENT!!! She's in Justin, (behind Texas Motor Speedway)and her name is Susan Perez, at 4th Street Salon. ###-###-#### Tell her A. Kimmel sent you. I am VERY particular and critical of a person whom I let cut and style my hair, and when I find someone who can do a great job I am very loyal and stay with them forever. Anyhow....I have long naturally curly hair and she just seems to cut it perfectly for me..just like I ask. She's a great person as well and she owns the salon. Hope this works out for you...good luck!
Hi my name is H. B.. I am a hairstylist in Hurst off Harwood and Norwood at Denman's. I work Tues, Thurs, and Sat. I do my own books so if you are interested my number is ###-###-####. My haircut with blowdry is $40. The salon is very kid friendly, my clients bring in their kids sometimes and it is not a problem. One of the other girls just had a baby and he's up their in a swing while she works!!!
I moved here six months ago and was very nervous about getting my haircut, but after six months without a haircut I took a recommendation from somebody at the Terrace Retreat in Southlake, ###-###-####. His name is Bryan and he is great. The receptionist told me she thought he worked at Vidal Sasson. He had hinted that he had a long and impressive resume but he never mentioned or bragged about it. He was very charming, but best of all he listended to me and gave me what I wanted. I said I wanted a style but I had to be able to pull all of it back in to a ponytail. He got the texture of my hair and gave me a great cut that I can style easily and works with my type of hair in this Texas heat. More importantly he left me the length so I could pull it ALL back.
There is a place called Renata Salon just off Main St. (near Weinbergers), and they are very good there. They even have an imaging service that can help you decide style and color before cutting/dying anything! The young lady who does my hair there Karah is very good, but I understand that they all are there. They have even won the top hair award for the whole of DFW more than once in the past 5 years. I live in Grapevine, and was prepared to drive to points unknown for a great cut, but this was great for me. It is not cheap there, but your long hair will be in great hands! The place is a wonderful antique house, and a real pleasure to visit.

I have been going to this same guy for about 8 years now. Started going to him when I was single and am now married and have 2 small kids--he has been great at adapting to my changing wants and needs in a hairstyle. I live in Keller and he is in Irving (salon is called Tammy & Co on MacArthur right off 114), but I wouldn't trust anybody else with my hair. Back at the beginning of the year I was looking for a new hairstyle and he was great at telling me what would be too much maintenance for me and what I'd be able to do easily. If you go to him, tell him K. K. sent you!
