I have a Shark Navigator that is lightweight and works really well. Sears carries them it she wants to try one out, but they are cheaper at target or Amazon
Wondering if any of you moms have a vauum that you love and is easy to push. My 82 yo mom needs a new vacuum. Any opinions?

I have the Shark Navigator Lightweight upright. I believe its about 15 pounds? I needed/wanted a lighter weight vacuum with a long enough hose/wand to do my steps quick (stair runner on wooden stair treads). It has a crevice tool and the little fuzzy end I use for the steps. Mine also came with a "bonus" pack of an exta long wand piece and a rotating piece to do steps, etc. I find the onboard fuzzy one works fine for my steps! Its a bagless one that is super easy to dump out as well.
I vacuum daily (it works on bare floors as well). I do home childcare (so alot of foot traffic and kiddies) and also have 2 shedding cats. I have had it about 15 mos now and no problems at all!
I LOVE how light my Oreck is. I have a basic model and paid about $300 for it. Have been very pleased. That price includes service and warranty for 5 years. Fantastic value. Would highly recommend.
I LOVE my Oreck. It is not cheap but it is super lightweight.
Mine has a 10 yr warranty, service, etc. and I spent upwards of $800.
Maybe you can find a used one from an Oreck store?
Good luck
Dyson Slim, hands down best vacuum EVER!!!
I have a hoover windtunnel that I got at Sams for $169. I like it! It's a bagged vacuum and it has power assist for carpet vacuuming. At Kohl's I've seen them for about $289 regular price, $219 on sale, so $169 is a really good price. It was rated really highly by Consumer Reports too.
I love the eureka pet pal. I got it at walmart and its purple. Super cute, light, bagless and easy to assemble, clean, dump, everything.
I actually bought the first one for my elderly grandmother. She has pets and her hair is falling out too so she needed something that would pick up all that hair plus the regular dirty. This thing is amazing! I put it together at my house and did a test run on my just vacuumed floor.... (I at the time had 4 dogs and a cat plus the 3 kids so I vacuum daily around here.) It was amazing what that thing sucked up. I fell in love with it. So light and easy to push (self propelled I think) and super cheap. $85 from walmart. The extra filters are like $20 and it is easier for me to have 2 but for someone who doesn't vacuum daily there is no need for that. I have had mine since last summer and still love it. It hasn't lost suction or anything. My grandma still loves hers too...she drags it up and down the stairs in her 3 split level home every week. I dont want any other vacuum at this point.... a friend bought one too and broke something on hers...she loved hers enough to buy a new one. She did order a replacement part for the broken one but it was wrong when it came in so that is a downfall but the only one I can think of.
Hope this helps. :)
I have an Optima Lightweight Upright.
I bought it on a shopping channel.
It's bagless.
It comes with a hose and attachments.
It zips around pretty easily. I really like it.
It wasn't expensive, plus I was able to make 4 value pays or whatever. I've had it for years and it's great.
Hope that helps.
