Hi L.
Try Lonestarnanny.com. It is free to use. I found my son's sitter/nanny at the site. I searched for months to find a sitter and thought I'd just give the site a whirl. You enter what you are looking for in a nanny and the site matches you up with people that meet your profile. It is up to you to negotiate price and interview the people and all that. I wasn't willing to try an agency. I also work at a University, but I only needed a sitter 3 days a week. (Plus, I'm a cheapskate.) It's free to use and you don't have to give out "personal information". The site sends you email when a potential nanny is interested in your position, or you can read profiles of nannies and email them through the site. I thought it was simple to use.
My son starts day care in October and then his sitter would be available.
Also, if you are looking for someone until September, I can also recommend our back up sitter. My son loves her. She was one of my husband's students, she is a recent graduate at Trinity and is planning to go into mission work in the fall. She is looking for a job so that she can gather some savings before she goes off to be trained.
Let me know if you are interested or if there is anything else I can answer.
Good luck,
L.
