Looking for a Song (Dying Mother to Young child...about Not Seeing Her Grow Up

Something from a mother's perspective, to a young child, telling her all the things a mother would tell her daughter, were she alive to see her grow up. Making a video for a friend, and can't find anything like I want. (i.e., I won't be there to see you on your wedding day, etc., but know that I'll always be watching you...)
Clarification: I gave a scenario that would best describe what I'm looking for, but it's not the situation. The video I'm making is actually for a missing persons case. Mother vanishes, husband flees to Venezuela with their 5 year old daughter (didn't report her missing, and emptied out their home before taking off). Her family and the community are trying to gain more media attention, hoping to at least be able to get the little girl back to the U.S. There's a segment of the video filled with pictures of the mother and daughter, and I was trying to find something fitting to play there. I couldn't think of another scenario where this type of song would be written, as most people don't plan on being murdered. More of a "what would you want your daughter to know, if you can't be there to tell her" when she grows up scenario...Sorry, it's a nightmare situation, and not exactly easy to put into words. Thanks for the great suggestions.

Awesome suggestions everyone!! Thank you so much! I went with Amazing, and yes it made me cry! But, the video needs to be emotional, so people will care enough to do something. You can see the finished product here.....

I checked out 3 of the songs and I think Amazing by Janelle is a great match. Definitely a Mom's perspective for her child(ren). The part about "The beating heart inside me Crumbled at this one so new" made me start tearing up.

Here's the lyrics:

he morning cold and raining,
dark before the dawn could come
How long in twilight waiting
longing for the rising sun
ohoh ohoh Oh ooh

You came like crashing thunder
breaking through these walls of stone
You came with wide eyed wonder
into all this great unknown
ohoh ohoh Ohoooh Oohh

Hush now don't you be afraid
I promise you I'll always stay
I'll never be that far away
I'm right here with you

[Chorus]
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
You're so amazing you are...
You are

You came from heaven shining
Breath of God still flows from fresh on you
The beating heart inside me
Crumbled at this one so new
ohoh ohoh Oooh ooohhh

No matter where or how far you wander
For a thousand years or longer
I will always be there for you
Right here with you

maybe the "House that built me" by Miranda Lambert, it is good but I can't think of all the words now so it may not be perfect. Or Cinderella which is usually from a dad's perspective but the words might fit. Or Sarah McGlaughlin (sp) "will you remember me?"
Can't think of many but I bet you could google "songs from mom to daughter" and come up with some. Look up Christian songs....
this is just so sad, I just couldn't imagine.
also, just saw someone say "how can I help you say goodbye" GREAT song.

Wow. What a sad situation.
My friend passed away. She was the mother of 7 children. Her youngest was only 3.
I don't know about a song from the mother to her kids, but I think
"There you are" by Martina McBride is a great one for her daughter to perhaps remember her mom by.

It makes me cry though.
My friend made everyone promise, NO TEARS.
She was fun and upbeat and positive. She loved laughter. That's how she wanted to be remembered.
She couldn't help leaving. She didn't want anyone crying over her.
Anyway, here's a link to listen to the song.

Absolutely "I hope you dance". That song was so tear-jearking yet inspiring when we lost my mother in law to leukemia. Ahhh, just thinking about it now makes me want to cry.

Hi, This is the first song that my granddaughter truly loved "You Are My Sunshine" and we often sing it together. It has been popular for many years...older than my 71. The words and melody are so beautiful and they fit any occasion of when their is love between two.
There are many versions on youtube of which this one is a favorite sung by one of my favorite artists Anne Murray: http://youtu.be/FafLnokzeNo

Of course this one is sung along with another "Let The Sun Shine In."

Happiness to you
C.
