Hi! I have lived in the area far to long to just be asking this question. Does anyone have a good OB GYN they can recommend. I live in the Clearlake area and would prefer something close but would drive a distance for a good one. Thank you!

Well, I have 4 kids ages 7, 6, 4, and 3, and I had a different ob with each one. The best one by far was Dr. Bowman and she actually works in clear lake. She is with the Kelsey Sebold clinic there. I delivered my daughter at Clearlake Regional. She was very knowledgeable and definatlely did her job right. The one thing that really makes her stand out is that you dont feel like you are with a doctor. She cracks jokes and makes you feel very comfortable (considering the fact of where her face and hands are going to be for the majority of your visits, lol) I give her a very high recommendation. Dr. Nisbet. She is in Clear Lake next to the hospital and she is GREAT!!!! My little boy just turned one and I switched to her after a bad experience with Dr. Findley-Smith (I would NOT suggest her).
I am an OB/GYN but currently staying home with my kids. The UTMB group has a new office in Dickinson in the HEB complex on 646. Dr Haver and Dr Griffis both see patients at this office and are great. I would go to anyone in the group. I delivered with Dr. Meredith Davenport who is in Galveston.
Do you have insurance? Have you asked your primary care doctor. When I had to have a hysterectomy I went to UTMB in Galveston.
I have been seing Dr. Mary Poag with Bay Area OB-Gyn for about 5 years now. She delivered my son about 3 1/2 years ago. Both she and her nurse, Barbie are phenomenal. I can't image a better doctor and wish I could use her for routine regular checkups! They are located at 17 Professional Park Dr. (off HWY 3 between Bay Area Blvd & Nasa Rd 1).
