My brother in law is a STHD and we got him an Eddie Bauer one from Target. It's cost about $40 I think and he loves it. It looks like a regular backpack and it's machine washable.
Hope that helps.
My husband and I both love having the diaper bag being a backpack. We had a small one (too small) that we just had to throw out due to a unfortuante chocolate milk incident (it was really gross). I am looking into a new one, so of course, who do you ask? I was looking at the Bjorn backpack that has good reviews, but it seems like it might be on the small side. I also saw the baby sherpa bag which is what Tiger Woods and Brad Pitt use, because that matters. I see some websites with raving reviews on it, but when you go to Amazon, the reviews are horrible! I am looking for one that is on the larger side since it will soon carry for my 3 year old and a newborn. I am asking now because my mom just called and offered to buy me one, so I better order soon! Thanks as always!
Thank you all very much, I have a lot to look at!!

I purchased mine thru One Step Ahead. LOTS of pockets and LOTS of room for two kids.
Good luck!
Hello M., Congrats on the baby #2. I have a few designer ones, but this one is definitelly my favorite one I absolutely love it. Keep us posted what you are having.
I just wanted to say my littlest just turned 3 (this month) and I'm due in a few weeks with another. Well I don't plan on carrying much of anything for my 3 yr old. I will have emergency clothes/underwear and such in small diaper bag that I leave in the car. That is basically what I've been doing for him since we've potty trained. Anyways, something to think about =)! I did see the Giant Eddie Bauer bookbag at target recently. Personally I didn't think it was very attractive. But maybe something my hubby wouldn't mind wearing. Good Luck!

I found the baby bjorn to be a little small for me. I got an Eddie Bauer one that worked very well and had side pockets and a mat to lay the baby on and a zippered see through vinyl bag for wet things (ie, clothes, bibs)
Good luck and congrats.
Why spend so much on a fancy designer? Just buy a Jansport in the color of your choice and it will last forever. And if it doesn't, they'll fix it.
I found the most fantastic backpack diaper bag at dillards.. at the time it was on sale... it was just the best one i have ever seen especialy in a back pack.. it was all black and had slots for EVERYthing!!!

While I can't recommend a backpack-style bag, the Jeep branded diaper bag Walmart sells (big enough for a wipe canister, 2-3 juice cups, and a stack of a dozen disposies or 6 clothies) is an excellent"handbag" type. It's got a flat pocket on the back side and to zip-close pockets on the front, plus the whole shebang zips up (for those nosy kids) and it has side slots for cups or butt paste or whatever.
we paid about 20 bucks for it a year ago, it's machine washable and VERY durable.
Just a thought, and Jeep (if you visit their website) may have other versions (like a backpack?) I dunno.
Hi there! I was looking for the same type of bag when baby #2 came along and found it in the North Face Isabella bag:
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7181578.html
It had lots of pockets inside to keep things organized. It had straps set a bit closer which helped keep them on my shoulders and it was just so convenient! I also used the bungee cords on the outside a lot for blankets and jackets and such. Anyhow Zappos price-matches and you'll get it the next day for free. Hope this helps!!
