I saw a nice jogging stroller at Play It Again Sports at Parker/Independence last night. I was going to the horse store right next to it, but I happened to notice the stroller on my way in.
I'm looking for a jogging stroller and was wondering if anyone had a gently used one or could recommend a good brand I've looked at a few online but wasn't really sure what I should get. I would be using it around the neighborhood and I was looking into joining stroller strides.
Thanks,
S.

I have a Schwinn jogging stroller that I bought at Play It Again Sports about 6 months ago. I like it for what I use it for (walking around the neighborhood) but if I has a dream machine I would have chosen something with a swivel front wheel (although around the neighborhood it is fine I just have a hard time getting in the front door and making a hard turn) I also would like the seat to be a little deeper it seems that my son rides a little shallow although he has never complained. The storage area at the bottom also tends to hit the ground at times and is worthless for actually holding anything.
My ultimate suggestion would be to go to Divine Consign at the Plano Centre and find one there. The selection is usually very good and their prices are reasonable. You can get dates and times on their website, www.divineconsign.net. I was at Once Upon a Child on Monday and didn't see anything that caught my eye.
Try www.freecycle.com or org... cannot remember! also craig's list.
good luck.
Hi S., I'm a little behind on reading Mamasource so I apologize for the delay in responding to your request. I have an In-Step double jogger. With you having one child I'm not sure if it's something you would be interested in or not. Just so you know, I used it for both my kids and then just the one child after my oldest started school. The second seat was nice to have even with only one child just to have the extra room for a blanket, toys, books, snacks, etc. while we went out walking or jogging. I no longer use the stroller since my kids are older now and I was actually getting ready to take it in to Play it Again Sports, Kid to Kid or one of the other consignment shops. It really is in excellent condition and it has a front swivel wheel which is very important and really helps maneuver the stroller better so if you aren't interested in this one, I would definitely recommend getting one with a swivel wheel. I paid 190.00 for it almost 5 years ago but it hasn't been used for the past 2 years. It's one of those things we've held on to just in case we decided to have child #3 but don't think that's going to happen now. I am looking to get 50.00 for it so let me know if it's something you are interested in.
Hi S.,
I personally liked the Jeep Jogging Stroller a lot, because you can hook up your CD or MP3 player to it and listen to your favorite music while running through the loud speakers. I liked that, because I could still hear my son when he was complaining or wanted his drink. It has several cup holders, snack tray for the baby/toddler and a place to put your keys, cell phone etc...
Check out the Dreamer Design Rebound Lite...it is way cheaper than a lot of jogging strollers (real running ones, anyway) and it is a GREAT one...I loved mine. unfortunately, i had to sell it b/c we had another and i needed a double...
we got it online, they don't stock in stores...it was a gamble to buy sight unseen, but i was REALLY happy with it...will probably buy the double one as well.
check amazon or even ebay for new ones of last year's model.
I would stroller recommend you pay a little more for a stroller if you are an avid jogger (30+miles/week). I run about 3 miles a day for most days and I have been through 3 strollers. I started with the Jeep jogger, but didn't like that the front wheel was permanently locked(no swivel) so I switched to the jeep multi-terrian which has a swivel wheel that does lock. I enjoyed this but then thought it would be nice to have a lighter stroller so I opted for the baby trend jogger with the locking swivel wheel. I loved this stroller for about 3 weeks until it started to fall apart. First the wheels punctured(and I jog on the sidewalks) and the manufacturer said it was my fault. Next the wheel posts started to bend in and when I contacted Baby Trend the customer service was horrible. The questioned if my child (who was 8 months at the time) was too large(40+ lbs)for the stroller. They also asked what I had done and when I explained to 3 different people and 2 managers they still wouldn't send me a replacement. That process took so long with them, I wasn't even able to return it to the store I purchased it at because it was past that time. In the end, I had to submit pictures of their faulty product to them and they still refused to try to make any amends. I have decided to invest in a BOB stroller next time (when our second arrives) because even though they are expensive the customer service and product quality is exceptional and is worth avoiding messes like this.
I LOVE MY BOB!!! It took me months to bring myself to spend the money on it ... but I am SOOO glad I did. (I have the Dualle Revolution) I just wish I'd gotten it sooner. I did wait for REI to have a 20% off sale.
