Dr. Ryan Dickerson at Louisiana Women's Healthcare Associates in the physician's tower at Woman's Hospital. I work at Woman's Hospital in surgery, and used to work Labor and Delivery, so I know all of the doctors there well. I go to Dr. Dickerson because he is everything I could ask for in a doctor. He sits and talks to me like I am his only concern in the world and he has no other place to be, even though I know he is busy. He is extremely skilled in procedures and surgery. He stays up to date on all of the new research, and what the pros and cons of all options are. Rarely does he not know the answer to a question, but when he does he is not afraid to say so and go look it up and consult other physicians until he is satisfied with the answer. He is a husband and father, and is very sensitive to the concerns and needs of his patients. He is extremely dedicated to his job. Obviously I cannot say enough nice things about him. Good luck with your decision!

I would recommend going to Louisiana Womens Healthcare on Airline Hwy in Baton Rouge. I worked there until I was put on bed rest when pregnant with my son. My OB/GYN was Dr. Nicolle Hollier, I loved her, but there are many great Dr's there, Dr. Sharon Lee, Dr Rebecca Sherman, they are both good also. There are male doctor's there also who are great, Dr. Ryan Dickerson, Dr. Charles Aycock, it depends on if you are looking for a male or female doctor.

My daughter and I both use Dr. Lisa Gautreaux. One of the things I like best about her is that when there's a problem, she lays out all the options, explains them, and doesn't try to talk me into things I don't want. I had a GYN years ago that was constantly trying to talk me into hormone therapies that I had already researched on my own and had told him I was not interested in. It was one of the reasons I quit going to him.
I first went to Dr. Gautreaux because I was having awful periods - they were coming every two weeks, I was flooding through my clothes even using two tampons at a time, and was having cramps so bad that they doubled me over. A friend of mine who is a retired GYN said it could be early onset menopause. So when I went to Dr. Gautreaux, I told her up front that if it was a menopause issue that I was not interested in HRT. When she laid out my options, she said that since I did not want HRT, she would tell me about everything ELSE that was available.
