Looking for a Church - McKinney,TX

We go to Cottonwood Creek Baptist, but I don't feel it is a baptist in the sense of the old stereotypes it once carried. Our pastor has been there for 13 years I believe, and we love it. It is big, but plugging into an adult class makes it feel so family friendly....love all the programs and classes it offers. It provides for a lot of growth for our family, now and the future.

You might like our church, Covenant Church McKinney. It is located right off Hwy 75 by the movie theater. It is non-denominational and focuses on bible-based teaching. It is contemporary in nature. We have been at Covenant Church since 1999 and we love it!

My husband, daughter and I have been going to Stonebridge Methodist Church and love it. The are located in McKinney off of Eldorado.

They have both a contemporary service (they call The Bridge), as well as a traditional service. Everyone at the church has been wonderful, very friendly and our daughter (2.5) loves the child care. We are also in a bible study group that meets before service and everyone has been very welcoming.

Our church is in Allen, but I think it is worth your drive. It is New Heritage, 8 Prestige Circle, Suite 122, Allen, TX 75002. We are a family of Christ. We are not a typical church full of pews, no brimstone and fire either. We joined the church in April 2006, after searching for a long time. During my first visit I knew we'd found our home. McKinney Fellowship Bible Church (McFBC) on Eldorado & Orchid.

Sounds like you are describing our church, Four Corners. The pastor used to be a baptist preacher, but some of the rules and regulations (like pastors have to move to different churches after 4 years) got to him, so he started his own non-denominational. If you want a smaller, old-fashioned, hymn singing church- Central Baptist is awesome!

Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church has a member, Tim Darnell, who has victimized his fellow Christians using His word to do so. His religious pyramid scheme sued the Dallas Better Business Bureau and lost. He and his top rep, Jack Weinzierl were recruiting fellow church members in to that obvious scam. The 98% of the Christians involved lost money. Many were out thousands of dollars.

Darnell then tried to push a bogus stranger owned life insurance program on the church. He stole the church's name to set up a charity that was little more than a scheme to promote his Advantage Conferences pyramid scam. That charity is now defunct and Advantage Conferences imploded into bankruptcy.

Darnell was an avowed tax protester. While he was passing himself off as a Christian mentor, financial professional and successful entrepreneur, he was sending in Affidavits and refusing to pay his taxes. In January 2011 he was slapped with an IRS tax lien for the 2005 tax year in the amount of $97,265.17.

He falsely accused me of stalking him and sending him death threats. I turned myself into into the police. He filed a frivolous harassment suit against me and all that was litigated in my favor. He also threatened fellow members at Cottonwood Creek Baptist church. That wonderful family left the church as did the Bonnema family.

Be safe when you worship! I can't understand why they have allowed Tim Darnell to remain a member with his history. All of the court documents and other records can be accessed on:

Until Cottonwood Creek can handle these rogue members i wouldn't venture there.
