We used to see a child psychiatrist through Childrens Mercy but my 9 year old son did not really connect with her. I am looking for a male psychiatrist who will take the time and talk to my son, my self and my husband.
We really like Tom Scott, ###-###-####. He's not in O.P., but he's worth the short drive. He's located in one of the buildings on Ward Parkway just west of Wornall.
I don't know what your 9 year old is going through, but Tom connects very well with our son, who started with Tom at age 11. Another reason I like this guy is that he's very helpful to us in terms of ideas for managing our son's issues.
Hi there, my daughter is a teen and sees a psychiatrist at K.U. medical center. He is absolutely wonderful. He is very nice to my daughter and my other children when they come along to appointments with us. I don't know what insurance you have or if he takes it but his name is Dr. Barth and he is at K.U. in the adolescent psychiatry unit. I should also say that my daugther has had a very difficult time connecting with doctors and therapists so I was pleasantly surprised to have found him. She is very comfortable with him.
