I have two little girls and would love to be able to meet others in the area. Our family moved here from Fresno Cal. and I have not made any friends in the area. I could realy use a friend.

Check out the storytimes at the St. Johns library events. There are book times for infants (0-12 months) and toddlers (1 yr) and older kids (2 yrs). You can meet other parents and find resources as well! Welcome to St. Johns!

We always hang around/drop by LilyToad on N. Leavitt in downtown St. Johns, there are always nice people with kids there... It's a really positive, supportive scene.

Hi D.,

I am a sahm also in St. Johns. I have a 6 year old girl who is first grade this year and an almost 2 year old boy. Once I became a stay at home mom, I made lots of mom friends by going to indoor play park at the St. Johns Community Center. It's from 9:30-11:30 am on M, W, F. Parents pull out the toys and put them away. There are large cars, trikes, a plastic slide, teeter-totter and some toys for the babies. It's a bit of a learning curve, learning how and where to put everything away, but for wintertime distractions it's a life saver! It's drop in and costs $.75 per kid. Also, feel free to contact me "off list" I'd be happy to show you around. My street alone has 5 kids between 1 and 2 years--mostly boys, though. I love it here. You'll make friends fast.

I host a "Moms Community" in my home. I live close to the Univ. of Portland. It's set up through my church (Imago Dei Community), but we have moms who come who just live in the neighborhood. We meet on Thursdays, 9-11am. Send me an email if you are interested in coming, or if you'd like more info.
It would be great to hear from you!!

Hi D.! Welcome to the area! I hope you are enjoying it here. Fall is so beautiful in the Northwest. I am leading a mom's group every Wednesday morning at my church, Compass Church, in downtown Vancouver. There will be childcare, and you get to hang out and get to know other moms, and have a yummy breakfast. You are more than welcome to come! You are actually not far from downtown Vancouver, just like 5-10 min. north on I-5. send me a message if you are interested! I am also a mom to a 2 yr. old and a 4 yr. old. I would love to get together anytime.
