Hello. I just had a consigning nightmare and I am trying to avoid another one!! Does anyone bring their children's clothing to Little Lambs in Lutz? If so, could you please share your experiences with me?

I just had over 100 items at a place named "A Child's Closet", also in Lutz, and they shut down without notifying me! My clothes were there less than 30 days. I found out when I drove by. Needless to say, I did get a hold of the owner and in the end I feel like I was really ripped off. If anyone else out their consigned with them in the short time they were open, I would also love to hear from you.

In the meantime, I am trying to avoid anymore headaches, so I'd like to check closer into Little Lambs before I go there.

Thanks so much,
D.

What can I do next?

I was highly disappointed in Once Upon a Child. We took our pack n play, and matching swing to them (it was less than a year old and barely used also had all the whistles... vibrating, music, changing table attached etc. ) we walked out of there learning after the transaction that they would be marking up what we sold to them by a lot. they buy from you and give you only 30% of what would be earned off of that item. I suggest you go to either craigs list, e bay, or simply have a yardsale at your house that way you will know your stuff is safe and you can get what you want out of it. for my two items i didn't even get 50, but they were bought for 200.

D.,

Sorry for your bad experience. I have only done consigment with Little Lambs. They have been around for a while. One of my friends has a 10 yr old, & she consigned there when her daughter was a tot. So going out of business should not be a concern.

They are very particular with what they take- which is good & bad. Good, that when you purchase something, it is in good working order (toys etc) & in good condition (shoes). You often need to schedule a appt. 1 month ahead of time. They can give you a shedule when they accept seasonal items. I have had good luck with consigning big ticket items, like stroller, bumbos, baby bjorns, pack & plays. Clothes so so. They don't take cribs- so I sold mine on Craig's list.

I often will buy the more unique toys, & books, which my daughter is rough with. IF they don't take a toy due to a recall they tell you so.

What I do is I take my stuff there first, to see what they will take. What they don't take I give to friends who can use it. My daughter is VERY rough on her clothes. Hope this helps.

Hi A friend of mine checked out Little Lambs and they only allow 25 pieces at a time - I believe, must be on hangers too - I think. I have used Comfy Kids in Tampa and it's been good for me.
