C.,
I don't remember what it's called but there is an awesome spray for under $5 available at any car wash/detailing place. It was recommended to me when I wanted to get rid of a smoke smell from my car's leather seats. I was sceptical but it worked. Remove all kiddos and pets from the room while you're spraying. I have a can somewhere. Let me know if you want me to find the name for you. It starts with an "O".

i would suggest washing it down 1st. you can use simple green, it takes out just about any stains, and smells and is environmentally safe. it says it can be used on anything and anywhere. we use it to clean our white leather couches, and it is always shiny as new...we also use it in our rug cleaner, and in the laundry when we have some really nasty stuff to wash (my husband's chemical filled work clothes, clothes he wears when working on the car, and any kind of messy accidents my daughter may make). there's also this stuff that they put on the leather seats in the car...makes it smell like brand new leather. i'm not sure if it should be used on your couch...but you could always check out the products and look at the uses on the back to see if you can (IF you wanted the new leather smell back). but definitely wash it down 1st w/ something like simple green to get it really clean. you can get that in home depot, and it's only about $5 and goes a REALLY long way! hope it helps.

Hello C.:

Try applying saddle soap which can be found in the shoe polish section or visit your shoe cobbler...it is a soap conditioner for leather and it has worked wonders on cleaning our entire three piece leather set, it is a lot of work but truly worth it and after u apply, try applying a liquid furniture polish and u should be able to find it at a furniture store but only apply the polish to a small section of the sofa to make sure that the colors match and once u do both applications, your couch should be in good shape.

Good Luck and I hope it works.

I am a smoker and although I do not smoke in my house, I do smoke in my car. Turtle Wax leather cleaner works really well for taking the smoke out. You can buy it at any auto parts store or at target. Hope it helps.

Try putting a capful of white vinegar underneath the couch and maybe another one near it overnight. A few years ago, my husband had his college buddies over. They all smoked pretty much all night long while they were playing cards. My home was furnished with wall to wall carpeting and a foam sofa. (This was in our still newlywed days.) Anyway, the next day, my whole house smelled of smoke. I had read about the vinegar and decided to try it. It worked. I don't recall if it worked in one night, but I do remember leaving it there for about a week. Hope this helps.
