Have you tried to find the old school plastic liners??? My daughter is alittle over two- and I had, and still have this problem- You may need to cut back on some of his drinks
My 14 month old son has recently had a huge problem with a leaky diaper. It seems like his diaper leaks 4 out of 7 nights and the other day he went through three outfits. I change him every 2-3 hours during the day. This just started about two weeks ago. I haven't changed diaper brands, about a month ago we did up the size and at night I always put him in a bigger size. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had to change the brand I used with my daughter as she got older I was using the walmart brand which worked great then switched to luvs now we are on to pampers. I wasn't to happy with luvs when I used them. If you have to get up in the middle of the night and change his diaper so that it might not happen as ofter good luck
Hey J.!
I've had the same problem. I found that Huggies make these overnight diapers, their in a purple wrapping. Their a little bit thicker than regular diapers and it put an end to all the leaking and wet clothes for me. Hope this helps...Jess
hi,
my daughter had really really bad leaky diapers cause I had her in like wal-mart brand or luvs but i started her on pampers (not the cruisers those are horrible they like shred up) and they work very well... also try putting a wash cloth folded in three inside the diaper that helps alot too
J.,
OK, this is going to sound like a product endorsement, but you asked. I have found with 2 really active boys that the Pampers Cruisers are really good at preventing leaks. The stuff inside is very absorbent, and the double elastic area around the legs and stretchy waist keep everything inside. My not-yet-potty-trained 3 year old son is still wearing them.
Best wishes,
K.
I agree, the diaper "may" be too big. I personally will not use any other diaper at night but Pampers. The cruisers I think are better than the baby dry. During the day I'll use other brands but not at night.

Huggies makes an overnight diaper and they work really well. Or you can try putting the vinyl/rubber underpants on him right before bed...the ones that you would use over cloth diapers. They hold the moisture in so that you aren't washing bedding everday! I use them on my daughter and they really help! Also, make sure you put an extra thick coat of diaper ointment on with his bedtime diaper and that will help to protect his skin from the wetness. Hope that helps!
I noticed when I used Huggies diapers at night they seemed to leak alot. I also tried putting the diapers on a little snugger and that worked too. Hope this helps.
Both of my girls had problems with leaky diapers at night (even while using Huggies Overnight diapers), so we now buy "Diaper Doublers". They are similar to a sanitary napkin which you just lay inside the regular diaper, and in the three months we've been using them ... NO MORE LEAKS! The only place we've seen them is Babies R Us, and it's just $2.99 for 30 of them. Well worth the money to us!
Good luck!
It could be that the night diapers a littel bit too big, and leaking out the side before it actually absorbs into the diaper. Otherwise, I'm at a lose. I used pampers curisers and never had a problem with leaky diapers except on the rare occasion when he would wake up with literally a 5lb diaper (we weighed them to see how heavy they really were!!!)
Sounds like the diaper might be a little too big. We used Luv's and they worked great.
cut down on late afternoon and evening drinks and go back to the small diapers at night the bigger ones leave gaps that cause leaks
Hello, I had the same problem with my son when my husband would put him to bed. My husband would never put the diaper tight enough, you don't have to make it so tight that they can't breath, but a little bit tighter at night I found helps. My husband leaves about an inch gap between the two flaps and when I do it I have them almost touching,,,no leaks for me. So maybe try that and good luck..D.
I have to say that the diapers you are using at night are probably too big and that is instant cause for leaking. Just because you buy a bigger size diaper doesn't really mean it will hold more. It is just like undies for size, but they don't put more absorbancy in the bigger diapers they just make them to fit a bigger kid. Also I use pampers cruisers and have NEVEr had a problem. I used Huggies ultratrim on my oldest 2 kids and never had a problem w/ that brand either, but found that every other brand I tried leaked bc it just wasn't as absorbant. I know some people swear by the off brand of diapers, but I just found that when I used them I had to change my kids twice as often and went through twice as many diapers. In the end the off brand cost me more money bc I had to use so much more. Hope this helps at all! My daughter just turned 15 months and she hasn't ever had a problem. good Luck!!!
Huggies makes Overnight diapers. They last, oh gosh, at least 12-14 hours. I used them with my first daughter ( who's now 8 years old ) and now with my 17 month old daughter. They are a lifesaver!! Worth the $18 for a 60 pack. They only come in size 4-5-6 though.
Hi J.,
I go to Sam's club and get their brand ( Members Mark). If you don't have a membership, I would look into it. Its about $30/year anyway, I get more diapers for the money and they are great! The diapers don't fall apart and beads don't get on your child plus they hold ALOT of pee!! HTH!!

My room mate came up with the idea of putting 2 diapers on her daughter and my son at night to prevent leaks. It worked like a charm...btw we've had the best results with Luvs.
I have to agree with some of the other moms. Pampers Cruisers are THE BEST! I had a lot of trouble with Huggies and leaks. Maybe it's just me, but the generic brands always seem to sag tremendously. My son is now 2 and it is VERY rare that we have a leak - and when we do it's usually because he had LOTS to drink before bed. No daytime leaks! I definitely recommend Pampers Cruisers.
It sounds like the bigger diapers may be the issue. Try switching back to the smaller size to see if that helps.
J.-
My son starting having the same problem around that age. The only thing that has worked for me is switching to Huggies Overnights as his nightime diaper. He usually wears Pampers during the day, but these Huggies are the only thing that I have found thus far that work at night. They are a little difficult to find (I buy them at Target). He will still occasionally wake up wet, but not nearly as often as before. I also have gone up one size in the overnights and have found that it gives some extra protection. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
We had that problem at night too and I found out that Huggies makes a nighttime diaper. It really worked for us. You can't find them at a lot of stores, but Target always has them. For daytime Pampers and Huggies have always worked for us.
A friend that had the same problem actually put two diapers on her son at night for awhile until it stopped. She said it worked so you might try it.
Hi J.,
I have the same problem with my daughter. I swear she pees out twice as much as she takes in. Even if I change her in the middle of the night she is still soaked in the morning. I have started putting plastic training pants over her diaper at night. It has done the job of keeping her pjs dry. I may try the diaper doublers that were suggested earlier. They could help keep the wetness away from their skin.
Good Luck,
Cathy
HI J.,
It has been many years since my two boys were in diapers, but I do remember the only brand that I could use were Huggies. Since all the urine is in the front of the diaper with a boy, that is the only brand I could trust to keep them dry. I went through the same thing with my youngest one.. sometimes even generic brand worked just as well.
HI J.,
It sounds like the diaper is too big. I personally use, White Cloud Diapers. You can buy a case at WalMart for $14 dollars and they work just as good as Pampers and Huggies. My daughter started this and I limited her drinks after 6 pm. Then she got one last sippee cup before bed. That worked for me! Good Luck!
I have had this issue with both of my boys. I use the huggies overnight in a size bigger, make sure the pee-pee is pointing down and also make sure to pull the diaper high up in front so that it is snug around the legs and it gives you more up front where it always seems to leak.
