The best sippy cups I ever found were the Avent sippy cups. You can throw them across the room and they won't leak.
I feel like I have tried every sippy cup. Has any one found a great one that doesn't leak!

I think we all go through the leaky sippy cup problem. I had the hardest time finding one that wouldn't leak....Nubby was pretty good, but we found these apple juice sippers. They are tummy ticklers and the tops are different characters. Bob the Builder, Clifford, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, Curious George....just to name a few that we have. They are dishwasher safe and you can refill them with any juice, tea, water, cool aid. My little boy loves them!!
We have the least leaking from our Gerber sippy cups (I got some small Suzy's Zoo ones, individually pckgd at Babies R Us)...they have a hard plastic lid and a valve you have to put in place. They leaked *significantly* less than Avent and Nuby did. We also have some newer Munchkin ones (Spongebob character) that we bought at Target or WalMart as they are bigger (the tall kind without handles). THey also have a hard lid and rubber stopper. So far they seem to not leak too badly, although I still think when she turns them upside down and shakes them that more comes out than it does when she shakes the Gerber one.
Oh the age old search! Yes, Playtex work the best I found although I agree those tummy ticklers work great too. It seems like you have to cycle them out. The dishwasher warps them from the heat & it's hard to get a good seal after awhile. Good luck!
I don't think they make the perfect sippy cup. I recently bought 2 cups from Playtex that are working pretty well. I don't know what the specific make is called. They came packaged individually. One I bought is sparkly purple and one is blue with dots on the cup on the dots have some pictures in them (a dog face, a sun, a fish, a car, etc). I also found these tops to be the easiest to really clean. What I have found works the best, however, is my daughter's Barbie thermos. It keeps things cold or hot. It has a really easy button to push the pops the top up and exposes the straw. The lid is attached so it's not getting lost, and it's easy for my kids to put the top back on when they are not drinking it. But I"ve found that even with the top off, the straw doesn't really leak. I found it in the section with lunch boxes and small coolers at Target. I think it works because it's not a piece of plastic junk made to be disposable. I bought Barbie because I have girls, but I"m pretty sure they had some more boyish ones. If you find a good sippy cup, please pass on the results.

Hi K.! I use the Nuby cups with the straw. The straws are hard to keep track of, but I heard that they're better for their teeth than sippy cips. They have the tall ones at target, but Wal mart has the ones with the handles on the side. At first my son couldn't hold the tall ones, but now he can use both kinds... It doesn't leak too much, just occasionally (usually in my purse:)
Hi, K.,
I know exactly what you're talking about. Some of the cups mentioned I've tried and they've leaked, too. It's a big problem for the carpet and sofa. I do have one that I've had a lot of luck with, though, and you may like them, too (if you haven't already tried them). They are the Gerber color changing sippy sups. Something about about the insert seems to work pretty well and you can get replacement inserts. I originally got them because I thought they were neat - guilty pleasure for me, my son couldn't care less - and they really worked out. I have others that I use when need to, but those are my favorite. Hope that helps.

K.,
Are you in gymnastics class on Wednesday nights in Greenville, NC? If so, my daughter and I attend as well! TTYL...

I love the playtex sippys. I have never had a problem with them.

Nuby cups are pretty good but depending on the nipple, the plastic wears out and then they begin to leak. Recently, I started using the Playtex brand with the hard top and it seems to work well.
I don't think any of them are totally spill proof and they probably make them that way so we'll keep going out and buying more. ;-)
Cheers,

I can't think of the brand of the cups to save my life right now but Target has them. They come 2 in a package for about $7.99 I believe. I know they have Elmo and Thomas - my son has those ones. They do not have a stopper in them but which is why I believe they actually work. Everyone that my son has that has a rubber stopper in them leaks but these ones are great!
I agree with the other posters that there is no "perfect" sippy cup, I have noticed that after a little while they all start to leak. I don't know if it's the seal or what, maybe if you try replacing the valves every couple of months that might help. I haven't tried this yet (just thought of it actually) but I have noticed that practically any cup is spill-proof when they are new. I don't recommend the cups that have the hard plastic valves instead of the rubber, when the kids throw them the valve falls into the cup. Let us know if you do find the "perfect" cup!!! Good luck on your search
