Labelling Swim Toys

I've tried labelling pool toys with Sharpies, but it seems to come off. I want to write the name on, not by stickers or anything else. What have you tried that works? A different pen? Something to spray over a sharpie to keep it there!
thanks

What can I do next?

Why not just go over the Sharpie permanent marker from time to time? That is what we do. Be sure the marker you're using is permanent and water resistant. There are different kinds of Sharpies.

I use a black sharpie to mark my floaties and my name is still on there after 2 years. My marker is the sharpie brand with the rounded pointy tip. So it puts down a good thick line. Make sure the pool toy is clean and dry when you mark it.

Tag mates or skinny minis by Mabel's Labels. Pretty much any toy with a plastic part, I stick a small label on. The labels are dishwasher safe, so they hold up in the pool. I have shovels and whatevers that were labeled two seasons ago and are ready for the pool this year.

We've never had any issues with Sharpie. I use the huge one and make sure it's really dark. I mark clothes and stuff with tags with a smaller point so it is legible.

My friend ordered labels with her kids name on them to put on sippy cups. The stickers are dishwasher safe. It seems like a good idea to use for swim toys as well!

have you tried a china marker or pencil? I think they are also called grease pencils. They are kind of waxing so it might work better than a sharpie which fades over time especially in the sun.
