How about baby powder?
Hi ladies,
I have a sweet, easy-going daughter who rarely has a complaint, but cannot *stand* to over heat! We have air con in the bedrooms, but not downstairs. I've been hosing her down, giving her wet washcloths to play with, cold milk/juice/water to drink, and heading out to airconditioned places, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other creative ideas? Thanks!

Hi E.! I have a 8 and half month old. She hates the heat. If u go on onestepahead.com there are some fun sprinklers to choose from for the kids.. Also, Walmart has come cute small kiddy pools.
Barb G.
Babies r us sells these hand held "nets" that you can use to put fruit or ice cubes in that she can hold. She can suck the liquid out and keep cool. I've used it for teething also. Coolbaths, spray bottle, mall, grandmas house. Good luck!
I have an 8 month old baby girl and she's crabby too!! :) I think she just needs to learn how to adjust to the heat and humidity, since she was a Fall baby and used to being bundled up! I've been letting her wear only a diaper (and we have AC at home but it's not on very high). Target sells this awesome Elmo water sprinkler for kids that mists lightly - that might work. She likes to go outside and I keep her in the shade. Try a kiddie pool too...
When my daughter was small and we were getting cabin fever in the summer we'd go to the library! She could scoot around, we'd read books and there are lots of activities in the summer. Look at the libraries in the towns around you, too!!
We used to keep a bottle of Witch Hazel in the fridge and put a little on. It felt like a cool breeze from Canada and was wonderful. I would just check to see if it is safe for your baby with your pediatrician but I remember it helped a lot.
