Keeley Elementary Rowlett

We were going to put our daughter there actually and then decided to put her in Dorsey cause it was closer. I love her school.. the teacher she has this year is the most amazing person ever! I have talked to several of the other parents whose kids are in other classes and they feel the same way about theirs as well.. it seems as though they really care about the kids there and I love their system. Dorsey has what is called a "MOOSE" book. It has a spiral in it and a chart for behavior. The spiral is for you and the teacher to communicate. Instead of having to schedule meetings all the time, you can write a note in this book and she will write back.. it is wonderful!!! Then the charts marks what kind of behavior your child had that day.. it really helps because the kids really want to come home with a good "color" that day so you can be proud of them.. My daughter use to go to Blue Ivey School right up the street and I think the level of education she has gotten from both places is beyond what is normal for her age.. Hope that helps!

I'm curious what your decision was on Keeley. That's my neighborhood school, too, and I've heard both positives and negatives. I don't know what your situation is, but if you're interested, my plan is to begin a private school in Aug. based out of my home. I have two degrees in education and experience. I'm listed under K-8 schools with more info. and reviews. Also under home schooling with a review. Best of luck on whatever you decide!

I've heard great things about keeley. My daughter goes down the street at Liberty Grove. We've had a great year there. Hey, just curious, what private KG does your daughter go to? I'm looking into it for my son.
